It is a very soft and velvety-feeling material, which I am not sure what it is made of.
It seems that larger dogs seem to fit better in smaller size dogs, according to a lot of the comments from a year ago. If they angled the size chart, I wonder if they did something similar. The medium I just got for my 8 lb dog is not large enough for him. I bought the large today, 01/16/20.
The measurements listed on the boxes are not clear to me, although I bought two last year. In the small size, I purchased a 14# Chinese crested dog, and in the large size, I purchased Neither of them were too tight or too loose. It was as expected that the sizes were the same.
In my opinion, it would probably be true to size however, I would recommend checking the measurement guide just to be sure.

Really, I'm serious here. There's a lot of softness to this, and it looks like a well-made item. You can get a little one a size up as long as you measure carefully. Don't be afraid to get a size up even though it seems to large—even if it sounds too big. It took me a long time to carefully measure my little 8lb dog, who is old and not bulky(maybe a large Maltese or a Poodle mix), and his chest measures 14 inches. So, I bought a medium, since the chart said I needed a chest of 16" and back of 12". fit him, but it was a bit too short (lengthwise, from his neck to the end of This might be okay but he's blind and old and might not complain if it's too tight since he's not vocal and may not let me know if he is comfortable. The fabric is a nice soft warm fleece that is cute and really warm. I'm going to request to return it, but I'll buy one in a larger size. I think it's really cute, and I enjoyed it a lot. It would be hard to imagine dressing a dog in PJs, even for a human who has never attempted such a thing! It is SO soft I wish I could get them myself! As far as I can tell, they do not smell of any odor that others have pointed out. In any case, I have a feeling I will be ordering more in different patterns after she survives the night!.
Considering the reviews, I chose the medium instead of the small for my little cat who weighs eight pounds. Rather than ordering the small, I should have ordered the medium. There are seven inches between her neck and her shoulder A chest measurement of about 12" and a long measurement of 14" are about 8". If she's laying down and she starts purring, she enjoys it.
