Questions & Answers

The cat will still cough up a lot of hairballs if it has this?

Your cat should be able to get rid of hairballs with this product. Your cat's hairballs should be treated according to the directions on the package.

My name is Vetri - Science-- can you compare it to the hare ball in Vermont-- Does your company have a relationship with this one?

The Vermont Natural Hairball is not comparable to Ventriscience because I haven't used it. As I was reading the labels for several other products, I noticed Vermont Natural Hairball on the list of products I looked at. It was 3 years ago when I started using a hairball supplement for the very first time. Although I do not remember the exact reasons behind my decision to use Venriscience, I suspect some of the factors included what ingredients (cat has urinary crystals) and cost. The Ventriscience really does help, but there are no guarantees with it. Since my cat has ongoing hairball problems, he also gets a hairball formula food and I goop him once every three days. In the case of the Ventriscience, I break it in half and place it in his food, which is quite small. Recent research suggests using Cat Lax (also on Amazon) instead of those gels (goop) made by other companies to alleviate hairball problems. The medication is a little thinner, so I can draw it up in a medicine syringe rather than putting it on his paw and letting him outside to lick As well as being cheaper, Cat Lax is more effective. I would be happy to brush him if he allowed me to.

What is the protein content of these treats? Under the ingredients section of the Vetriscience website, there is a reference to Hydroxylyzed Chicken Liver. Is this page not ?

Our Hydrolyzed Chicken Liver in this product is 100% Beef Liver. We hydrolyze all animal proteins that we use in our products.

Can you tell me if these are ?

Fudge would be difficult to break in half between your fingers, but you should be able to break them in half with

We were able to get her on dry kibble with the help of our wonderful veterinarian
5/5

The cat we're talking about in the photograph turns 17 in a couple weeks. He doesn't throw up hairballs, but he's having kidney issues since Her short hair is a mix of Tonkinese and Siamese. With the help of our vet, we started her on a dry kibble kidney diet from Hill's Science and a wet product called HI TOR NEO DIET I found on Amazon after doing extensive The cans of this are sold by the case on Amazon In an effort to promote better stools, and make sure things stay moving, I give her this VS Labs or Vermont Naturals Hairballs (these companies are connected and based in Vermont) in her wet food, rather than what you rub on her paws. Despite her cute fur and happy nature, she has a very sad disposition. I gave her a couple of small fish when I first met her - The chewy treats were shaped according to the directions, and she ate them right up. Next time she just let go of it and walked away, so now, I cut up two every morning with a sharp paring knife and mix into 1/4 of a wet food can. person who answered my inquiry at the customer service desk at Vermont Naturals was super nice and helpful, and he sent me 3 free packages of Vermont Naturals by UPS. As far as I learned, VN labs have just a little more moisture than VS labs. Please accept my apology for this review covering.

says my cat's fur is soft and feels great to the touch! It used to happen almost every day for my cat to get sick and eat or throw up hairballs
5/5

To begin with, I did two pieces, and then three. The first time my cat starts hacking like he has a hair ball, I give him 4. His fur has grown so soft that he rivals minks for softness! After taking these for a few weeks now, his fur is now as soft as minks! It was the supple, soft texture of my cat's fur that captured the eye of both the techs and the veterinarian. As a first time cat owner, I chose this product as a result of its simplicity and ease of use. Even though I was skeptical, I will not give my cat anything else when it comes to hairball treatment. I have given this to him every three months for the past three months, and he hasn't had any issues and has experienced a hairball once that caused him to throw up twice. Bonus He considers it a treat and not something for medicinal purposes, so he doesn't mind a little nip of medicine I get to hear the purr of a happy cat after I win!.

This is usually a bad batch
3/5

I'm not sure if it's expired or just a bad batch, but cats usually love this, while these they won't eat. I opened them before returning them and these didn't smell the same as other of the same products I got from other sources. There wasn't much of a difference in how much harder they felt compared to the others. There is no date listed for expiration, but I suspect that this is both the cause and the result. Perhaps I will find a different vendor before I purchase again from this vendor. There was no difference in the lot numbers of the two packages. There is nothing I can do. A message was sent to the vendor, but no response was received.

They are eaten by my cat
5/5

It's a strong endorsement in my mind! I love it. This is a favorite treat for my picky cat. Quite satisfied with what I've done! I love it. You can't, or you won't, get her to tolerate the stuff you squeeze out of a tube and put on her paws. (Stays away from me for a couple of days, looking at me as though the most heinous betrayal must have taken place. I purchased this product desperately seeking a solution to stop fur balls forming. We use the VetriSCIENCE Lysine supplements with great effect for her eyes, so it was worth putting their hair ball formula to the test. While the product is a bit on the pricey side, I believe it will be well worth the money if it works. Everything seems to be going well so far. Even though she has only been symptom-free for a week, I am encouraged by the fact that I have not heard her cough. If it does not appear to do her any good, I will update review. The products you make at VetriSCIENCE are great.

Despite their "soft" appearance, they don't seem to be more than a little difficult
4/5

There are several remedies that I have tried giving my cat for her hairballs. As far as I know, this is the only one she'll actually eat, so the flavor must be fine. Since she's barfing up fewer hairballs, this seems to be helping, though I also make a habit of combing her every night, so that may also be helping. It has been a while since she last wrote Kitty with a long coat. A downside to these things is that they're difficult. I tried breaking up the whole piece into smaller pieces to make it easier for my cat to handle, but she was still unable to consume it and would leave the pieces behind. Not only is she not old with bad teeth, but she is also not old with bad eyesight. Whenever I do this, the carrots will just crumble or break into extremely small pieces, so that she can eat them alongside her food, but since they're so hard, it actually hurts my fingers! Although I will keep buying them for now, I will keep looking for one that she likes and that doesn't feel rock hard to her.

It is a little pricey, but it is It is the only treat our cat will consume
4/5

The cat is extremely picky, however, and he does want only certain things. In the past, finding a food that he liked to eat was almost impossible, since he required special cat food (for crystals). The dog did not like treats or paste, so we were not optimistic about finding a hairball treatment for him. Fortunately, we found a brand of prescription food that he enjoyed, but he had never liked any kind of treat or paste. He absolutely loves the ones we found on Zazzle (where they are really FRESH as opposed to the ones we found at the local store where they were stale). It only occurs when he is experiencing hairball issues, but he has been known to claw open the drawer where they are kept and drag them onto the In a cost-to-treat ratio, 5) is adequate. Due to the fact that he needs 4 pouches a day for hairballs and it takes at least a week for them to kick in, the pouches do not last very.

I WISH THE FELINE FURBALL FORMULA WOULD RETURN! Neither this one nor that one appeals to cats
3/5

What happened to Feline Furball Plus? Why did you remove it? It is amazing that the amazing product (rec'd by our vet) was able to solve all of my cat's digestive issues completely and he even liked The formula changed to this Hairball one, and the recipe changed, so he will not eat it any longer. I'm sorry, but we are back where we started. He can only eat this by crumbling it on top of his food for regular litter visits – That's the only method I've found to get him to consume it- I love to smell my hands first thing in the morning thanks to this- Upon coating anything in the universe in this Pureina Probiotic Powder, he will lick it off in no time. It would be great to see the original Furball formula come back! Knowing I'm not alone in this plea, I'm asking for your help.

Cats and kittens with long hair can benefit from this product
5/5

They are a bit expensive, and I can't say if the flavor is good, but they do get rid of In my home, I have two long hair kittens and neither has thrown up yet. They groom themselves and each other constantly, and today I gave them a treat and they enjoyed it very much. In fact, I had to call the company because they seemed so dried up to me. I didn't know if it was a regular occurrence or if I had stored them incorrectly. It is not uncommon for cats to swallow food in pieces, they have to chew it, so it is less likely.
