It is not my German Shepherd's favorite activity by any means, but she tolerates it, and my Pitbull is fine with it as well. Using this really helps break up gunk in the ear, so make sure you are prepared to remove a lot of it! I've prepared the bottle, opened it already, and strategically placed it at the place where the dog will be settled as soon as I've finished applying it. In my opinion, the best way to apply it to dogs is to put them between my legs with their backs to me and their but between my feet, facing away from me. When you do this next step, your dog will immediately want to shake their head. You must not allow them to shake their head after this. DO NOT allow them to shake their heads! Make sure to pick an ear and to fill the ear canal with the solution, then quickly close its ear and massage it. Massaging it will work the solution into the dog's ear, once it's done massaging, let your dog shake their head until the solution flows Clean your ears from gunk with a cotton ball if needed by repeating steps 2 and 3.
An ear problem I have with one of my dogs comes and goes every now and then. My dog's ears remain clear after rinsing them a few days after his monthly grooming and every couple of weeks.
