Questions & Answers

How many ingredients are there?

250mg of metronidazole and 75mg of praziquantel are needed for this medication.

cherry shrimp and horned snails be kept in the same tank with this?

In tanks with several species of snails, cherry shrimp, and other animals, I used it without problem.

Could this be used in planted aquariums? Is it safe for crustaceans too? Are there any ingredients in this recipe?

Using general cure on my heavily planted discus tank with a red cherry shrimp colony and two dozen amano shrimp had no adverse effects. I used a little more than the recommended amount. The tank I have has a 90 gallon capacity, but with drift wood and substrata it is likely that the volume of water is less. The other ingredients in the combination I am not sure of, but I read somewhere that it consists mainly of Metronidazole and Prazi.

This treatment works on camallanus worms, right?

As Brae correctly pointed out, lemavisole is used to treat worms carrying Camallanus eggs. A dosing calculator is available at a website you can find by searching the internet. To use a scale, you will need to have a precise measurement. Despite being light-sensitive, you do not need to actually cover your aquarium. If your infected tank was shared with a net or piece of equipment, I suggest dosing the other tanks. Additionally, ensure that your equipment is sterilized to prevent reinfection as recommended by the other person. Here are some of the good things If you're not certain about the diagnosis, lemavisole can be powerful against worms and parasites (which is great if you're still not sure about your treatment). It does not take long to finish your regimen with lemavisole. Additionally, it may be used safely with invertebrates. And you may use it once a year as a preventative when introducing fish or biannually when introducing them.

It works on Wasting Disease and Internal When I bought a rare fish at my local fish market, he was suffering from wasting disease, which was really just parasites inside him
5/5

It was taken care of by Gen Cure in about four hours I noticed my fish gained weight and become more active after 5 days. It treats about 10 gallons in each pack (there are 10). If you mix it with a pellet fish food, it can be used for up to 40 gallons. Blend half a packet of the medicine with a shot glass full of pellet food, and add garlic powder (fish don't like the taste of the medicine, but they love After mixing the food powder and medicine with a few drops of tank water, let it dry for a few hours, then We are now able to offer you medicated food for fighting parasites inside fish that will heal your ill fish and prevent illness in the rest.

Our favorite Koi has been saved! Koi Blue, a 14" blue and white fish named, injured himself when flew around and partially left the water while jerkily flipping
5/5

It would have been easy to assume that the following were the result of his injury if this behavior didn't occasionally occur and other issues appeared. It would get exciting when he sensed food and he would work his mouth like crazy, however he wasn't able to reach the food or get all the way to the top. He began to lose his coordination gradually and it caused him to become progressively more clumsy. It appeared that the mind was in the right place to want to do the movements, but the body parts required for those movements weren't in the right place. In addition to floating, he did not experience any other problems His body stayed even in the water at that one depth, and he was able to swim quite gracefully at that level (the "level" being roughly three times While at rest he looked quite normal as well, and sinks to the same depths he was incapable of reaching when swimming! The problem was he simply couldn't go all the way to the top or the It was not uncommon for him to spasm his top fins, shake his head, or dart around crazily after acquiring a single piece of food, and yet at other times, seemingly out of no where. For him, I found that peeling a chunk of cucumber, dicing it, then mashing it with a fork and tossing it in was the best method. His pieces were filling the water to the point where he had to go get some without having any way of aiming. All of them seem to like cucumber, so this was acceptable to his aquarium mates as well. We saw him lose weight right in front of us, but he hadn't noticed it before. With time, it became evident that his brain was involved since he became slow to react even when the other fish were. In a way, it was heartbreaking and heartwarming to see another kio, Flipper, try to boost Blue up to the food on the surface and sit by his side. Blue learnt to pull stuff off of the filter inlet eventually It happened that the inlet of the filter happened to be at the level at which he could swim. As a result of this action, we concluded that a mouth injury was probably not his primary complaint. There was no doubt in his mind that he It was just impossible for him to coordinate the actions required to eat at the surface or below. Within a couple weeks, we were able to move past him being injured in his mouth and we revisited his behavior and why he had been flipping his head around, flapping his top fins, or darting around the tank at random times ever since. He might have been doing it before the day of his injury, and we just didn't notice? A friend was concerned about the progress of a downward trend There are no parasites or worms in this house! This Koi has been in our care for at least eight months, however he was not purchased from the same source as the others. It may take that long for a tapeworm, or other parasite or worm, to grow to a point where it becomes problematic and reassured me that API General Cure would be safe for Blue and his group. In doing some research, it became clear that this could be one of those worms that gets into the brain. Our team was about to give him the API General Cure but his fate might not have been sealed after all. For us, it was a great thing that this koi and the others were wintering in a tank indoors and not out in the cold pond. In order to dose the entire tank, we did. One box does 100 gallons at a time, but you will need to purchase more than one if you are doing two regeneration procedures. (Be sure to follow the instructions on the box and to remove the carbon from the filter before use. ) 2 rounds are needed. After the first dose was given to the entire tank and its occupants, Blue went to the top and started aiming and grasping food! Within 24 hours (after the first dose), we saw him going to the top and aiming and grasping food! Even the pellets being flung about by the wavemaker managed to grab hold of him! Put on your show! He hasn't been eating as much as he used to, but he gets a lot more than he did in the past. In the past two weeks, he has lost quite a bit of weight. It is quite obvious when he faces koi of the same size that were there before all this bad stuff It is very important that if you have a fish that shows a very micro-expression, the fish be raised in a You suspect that parasites or worms might be present based on a slow progression to the negative. A second dose will be administered to them It is remarkable how much progress he has made in such a short time! There can't be enough thanks for saving our Blue, given to me by my friend and API! Thank you for reading this review and I hope it assists someone else as well!.

Miracles do happen when you use this stuff! The African cichlid Cybil, which has been swimming upside down and sick recently, has been really sick
5/5

She had begun to notice that her pelvic fins had As avid fish keepers, we gave her only a day to live. After quickly moving her to our 10 gallon hospital tank, treating her with API General Cure and creating an environment that allows her to swim upright, our fish are now swimming upright and almost back to normal. The colors of her fins are much more vibrant, and she now has a much healthier appearance. We followed the instructions on the box and we're delighted we were able to save one of our favorite African cichlids who we have now kept for over 2 years without incident. API General Cure, thank you very much!.

TDS rockets from the sky
3/5

The medication works for what it was meant to do from what I can tell. It should be noted that your TDS will very likely sky rocket with this medication (+*200 TDS per packet dissolved in 10 gallons, +400 TDS when used as a second dose). It can kill some species of invertebrates if you use it on them. Please stay away from it if you keep sensitive invertebrates. The first medicine you should take includes Praziquantel, and the second, Metro. If you have parasites, take Praziquantel, and if you have bacteria, take Metro only. Although it is considered to be a popular 'general cure', it should probably also indicate it can cause increases in TDS and sensitive invertebrates can be negatively affected.

Names like that are awful I saved a life by creating a suction cup
5/5

My betta fish was so weak that he had draped himself over the edge of the cup, just below the surface, and lay gasping the entire day. There was no movement, he didn't eat, and he didn't It was clear that he was dying, although there were no visible symptoms. As a last resort, in desperation, I threw a dose of General Cure into the tank, expecting my fish to be dead by That was not the case. At the end of four days, when it was time to take its medicine out of the tank, it was still swimming around and eating. My experience has led me to run a preventative dose of GC through all my tanks ever since. I regret not trying it sooner, as it could have saved many more fish from mysterious deaths in the past. The name of the place is awful There is something vaguely tonic-like about General Cure, which sounds like some sort of tonic sold by a straw hat seller Actually, this mixture of Metronidazole and Praziquantel, which fish keepers consider to be some of the best medicines for removing parasites, is a combination of both. The remedy isn't effective against everything. It doesn't even work for every type of parasite. Yet one of its best characteristics is that it is fast working and has very few side effects if any. Since it is used for fertizing the tank and containing all sorts of plants, plecos, snails, shrimp, minnows, gourami, barbs, tetras, and danios, I have not noticed any harmful effects. You should try this stuff immediately if your fish is acting lethargic or not eating, and you are not sure what's wrong with it. Hopefully you will start seeing results within a few days when it works. You can still conduct other treatments with no harm if it doesn't, since you can rule out many species of parasites and you won't have any more troubles.
