I believe that if used properly to treat skin issues, it should be safe to try on a small affected area first, as this will kill fungus and yeast on the skin, which can lead to bacterial infections in a vicious cycle. I've been using it on my dane twice a week for years; he's immuno compromised, and his skin is a thousand times better than it was before I discovered it. If your puppy has a bacterial infection, you'll need antibiotics as well as shampoo from your veterinarian. (Illness.) discharge from infected area that is oozy, smelly, yellow, or green in color)
NO, but all of the ingredients are found in human products and have been thoroughly tested on humans. Ketaconazole was once found in a brand of human dandruff shampoo, but it appears to have vanished from the market, so that's one I'd look into. I've used a variety of pet shampoos because no human products contain the same ingredients in shampoo form, but they're all safe in other human products.
It's for dogs and cats, according to the label. Because my cats do not require it, I have never used it on them. However, if necessary, I would not hesitate to use this product on my cats. I worked as a vet tech for 8 years and would try this before going to the doctor.
No, the replacement does not satisfy me. The skin and allergies of each dog, however, vary. My dog gets allergy shots every 6 weeks or so, and having a good shampoo for my groomer to use helped a lot, so we're looking for something else now.

I've been fighting my dog's hair loss problem for two years, and no veterinarian has been able to find a suitable treatment. He had a black fungus that was flaking off, and nearly all of his hair had fallen out. I found this stuff, tried it, and saw results within the first week; it was so amazing that family and friends were commenting. The black began to fade after the second week of application, and more hair miraculously began to grow out; it has now been four weeks, and he has completely recovered his hair. All I have to say is that this stuff is incredible. The two photos are both 4 megapixels. The interval between the two was five weeks.
I buy it when my bottle is half empty because it's sometimes hard to find and I have dogs with bad skin, but I wouldn't recommend it to a friend. It has the scent of grandma's perfume, but on a much stronger level. Why is it necessary for a medicated shampoo to have such a strong fragrance? Since giving my puppy a bath, I've been sick, vomiting, and suffering from a migraine. My mother became ill as a result of the odor! If it bothers me this much, imagine how much more the poor puppy's sense of smell is heightened. To get rid of the smell, I had to give her three more baths in Dawn. My itchy dog will now be devoid of natural oils, worsening her skin problems. Because the animal it's being used on already has allergies, a truly medicated shampoo shouldn't be overly scented; if you have asthma or any other allergies to fragrance, don't buy it. Please don't buy this for the sake of your pet. I'm not sure how many harmful chemicals are in this with such a strong scent. The BPO- The scent of 3 shampoo is very light. This shampoo is the stuff nightmares are made of. Now I'm out over $20, possibly vet bills for getting the itching under control due to having to give three additional baths with Dawn (the only thing that removed the scent), and lost wages because I'm too sick to work because I bought it months ago.
This product was first recommended by a veterinarian for my miniature schnauzer, who has had severe skin irritations and rashes since she was a puppy. It's fantastic that it's available for mail order on Amazon because it really does work in controlling my dog's irritation and rash. When used once a week, it keeps her calm and prevents her from scratching herself to the point of causing skin irritation. Yes, oral medication alone isn't enough to control her skin problems, and after trying a variety of medicated shampoo brands, we discovered that this is the product that has helped her the most.
Other shampoos I tried were too watery and made him stink even more. I remembered buying this brand at the vet's office years ago, so I went to Amazon to look for it. It has a pleasant scent, lathers well, whitened his hair, and relieved itching. This is supposed to help with a variety of skin problems, and I believe it's antifungal, among other things. This is more expensive, but it is much more concentrated, so it lasts much longer. This is something that I will continue to purchase.
I've been using this product for several years on a variety of dogs with skin problems, and it has either healed the conditions (in the majority of cases) or provided temporary relief in one of our more serious cases. Giving a medicated bath twice a week for the rest of my life may seem daunting, but it appears to be helping my miniature poodle's severe skin allergies. Her skin is easily inflamed, even with allergy drops, and bathing allows her to temporarily relieve the burn, which is part of her long-term treatment. I'll keep using and recommending it.
I've always used this shampoo on my dog because she suffers from a variety of skin problems and it's the only one that works. Although the formula may have changed, this shampoo continues to be ineffective. I bathe her and leave the shampoo on for at least 10 minutes, if not longer, as directed by my veterinarian. This has always worked for her scabby, itchy spots, but not this time; I've given her three baths with this bottle of shampoo and it's still not working. It also doesn't have the same "medicinal" scent as usual. br>It's either a new formula or a bad bottle, but something isn't quite right.
My Saint Bernard, who weighs 160 pounds and has extremely sensitive skin, is my companion. I paid $30 to my veterinarian for this shampoo. 00, but I was able to find it for a much lower price on the internet. br>Buy this if your dog has sensitive skin and you want something that smells good.
- It doesn't have a strong scent, but it's difficult to compare it to anything else. Is it possible to smell fresh?
- Because I have such a big dog, the shampoo only lasts about four showers. br>- His head is clearly visible in the photo.
