It may work on both dog and cat hair, in my opinion. I used it on my long-haired cat, who had a lot of mats, and it worked like a charm. Every time I used it, I made sure it was fully charged. I wouldn't recommend using the guards because it won't be as effective; I didn't notice much pulling with it because I moved it slowly, giving it time to get the worst of the mats. It is, in my opinion, worth a shot.
I'm not sure about right now, but my blade is ceramic. It's an excellent product that performs admirably.
After cleaning the blade, apply a small amount of oil to the blade base and run the clipper through it to allow the oil to penetrate the blade. Wipe away any excess oil before using. This is what I do for a living.
Sorry, I didn't use mine because Lily wouldn't let us get close to her with it. Her matting, on the other hand, was pretty bad when we got her. I ended up taking her to the vet, who shaved her, and everything is fine now.

Excellent clippers that surpassed my expectations by a long shot. I have an elderly cat who was becoming increasingly matted. I could tell he was in pain, but I couldn't take him to the groomer. Despite my reservations, I decided to take a chance after reading the positive reviews for these clippers. I was blown away by the quality of the clippers and accessories right out of the box. I was ready to take on the mats after only a few hours of charging. I carefully began working on his many mats and after two days, we are both happy to announce that he is now mat free. The clippers make a low noise, more of a gentle hum, and did not bother our cat in the least. I took a little longer because I didn't realize how close some of them were to his skin, and knowing how delicate a cat's skin is, I was probably being overly cautious. We only took breaks to "take a break" because the blade never got hot. I would highly recommend these clippers, and I am extremely pleased with my purchase!.

My husband loves these because he likes to cut our dogs' hair but hasn't been able to find any that will work on our dog, who is a mix shitzu bison with a lot of nots and long hair, but it didn't take him long to trim / cut his hair this time because the clippers were easy to use, easy to clean, and my dog wasn't afraid of them. My Persian cat, who is 20 years old, has been with me for 20 years. She is unable to groom herself, and I noticed that she was severely matting up. Clippers were used for the first time for the first time. I bought two of them just in case the first one died in the middle of a cut and I didn't need it. Two and a half hours later, the battery is still charged. It would have been quicker if I hadn't been chasing my big love around the room. When I play with his hair, he gets irritated. My chows have thick hair, so I'm amazed at how well this worked. It never got hot in here. I tried using the guard and realized after two seconds that it wouldn't penetrate his hair, which was full of burs and matting. It worked fine without the guard. They'd just gotten out of hand because she's overweight and can't reach back there to groom herself. To be honest, I'm ashamed that we allowed them to deteriorate to that point. We used to catch the mats before they grew too large (about the size of a peach pit) and simply snip them out with scissors. However, we were unable to do so this time. They were a collection of large mats that couldn't be cut because they were clumped together. As a result, I placed an order for these. They arrived today, I charged them (which took about 3 hours), and we got to work. We expected it to take an hour to an hour and a half because we didn't know how she'd handle it and assumed we'd have to stop frequently. So we sat down with cold drinks and cat treats, ready for a grueling 60 to 90 minutes. I don't believe that is the case. We were finished in less than 20 minutes, despite the fact that it took a few minutes to get the hang of it. The mats are completely gone, and she seemed unconcerned about the procedure at all. We took it slowly and carefully to make sure we didn't hurt her, but within 5 minutes or so, we had the process down and it went off without a hitch. There is a hum from the clippers, but it isn't nearly as loud as I expected. There was no noticeable vibration or anything along those lines. Stella didn't even flinch (though she is a pretty laid-back cat). I am extremely grateful for all of these things! Absolutely fantastic! I've been keeping an eye on all of our pets to see if they need to be shaved, LOL. I strongly advise you to watch cat grooming videos online to get a sense of how to use them (shave in the direction of hair growth, for example) and to be cautious. Excellent work!!.
