These are the "lunch" for my cats. " Despite the fact that I feed them moist food for "breakfast" and "dinner," the vet advised that the more wet food they eat, the better, especially for male cats. br>br>These are sufficient. The consistency is similar to that of a human being. intended broth with vegetable slivers, chicken, fish, or whatever else I actually made the pieces even smaller, which was completely unnecessary (akin to removing the crust from a sandwich for a picky child)- However, I've noticed that when they're lapping up the liquid, they consume more of it. br>br>For years, I've been feeding them these. Oh, and they prefer the Broth varieties over the Creamy varieties, and they despise the mackerel varieties; That is, however, the case with my cats.
We have an older cat, like many others here, and we're looking for foods that are easier for him to consume. These broths come in attractive packaging and are very tasty. Looks good and smells great. Our young son enjoys the broth, but we break up the fish or chicken into smaller pieces to make it easier for him to eat. Our kittens are unaffected. One thing I will say is that, in my opinion, they are extremely expensive for the amount of product they contain, which is only a few tablespoons at most. In fairness, Purina describes them as a "treat," but be aware that if you are relying on these for a meal, you may end up using several envelopes per day. We're still looking for a more practical and cost-effective alternative, but he loves these in the meantime. br>br>UPDATE June 9, 2018 We decided that our oldest cat was losing too much weight and started hand feeding him not long after I wrote this review. I'm so glad we did, but I wish we'd started earlier. I was worried that if we started hand-feeding him, he would stop eating and drinking on his own, but this was far from the case. Hand feeding, on the other hand, has increased his independence in the kitchen, and his weight has returned to normal. If you're in the same boat, I'd suggest starting with hand feeding as soon as possible. Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
I have an older cat who seems to enjoy gravy on his food, and I wanted to be able to supplement his diet with some additional moisture. He enjoys the gravy and leaves some of the small pieces, but the other cat comes along and devours them! This isn't a meal; rather, it's a small treat that gives my older cat a little more. I wish I could find a bottle of something similar to pour on his regular food, but for now, this will suffice.
They, the cats, wanted to eat everything in these delicious packets, and I couldn't afford to feed them three times a day. Unless, of course, I start a GoFundMe! 4 times a day at the current cost! So, until these delectable feline delicacies run out, I'll be weaning the whiners. No mas!.
This is cat crack, as many have already pointed out. This will assist you in feeding an elderly cat that is difficult to feed. I don't feed it to my senior cat as a standalone meal: I use one pack and combine it with a good-quality flour to make a good-quality flour. a standard serving of wet food This makes the wet food so appealing that she'll eat as much as she used to. It is bringing her weight closer to where her veterinarian wants it to be. br>br>For a sick cat who refuses to eat, I'll serve the broth on its own. I fostered an elderly, dying cat who couldn't move much and was nearing the end of her life due to kidney failure. This broth was miraculous when he refused to eat anything else. When I placed a bowl in front of him, he raised his head, sniffed it, lapped it up, perked up, and resolved to live another day. I believe the broth helped him live longer.
The product would receive five stars if it were written by my cat. It's something she really enjoys. Me? This is without a doubt the worst packaged and most expensive cat food on the planet, and I'm giving it two stars. The pouch is difficult to open, and if you do, the broth will slosh out on the counter or even spray all over your kitchen cabinets. And, while the broth is tasty, it is essentially flavored water, according to my cat. It's ridiculous how much solid food there is. It's also ridiculously expensive at a buck or more per pouch. br>S.
This item was reasonably priced. Elliott was sick and on a renal prescription food he didn't like, plus he had a tumor in his mouth that couldn't be removed. I used this product as a treat in between his prescription feedings and when he didn't seem to be eating them properly. He liked it, but I took out the chicken pieces because he'd push it to the side anyway. If there was a way to only pour up the liquid for a sick kitty, the packaging would be better. When he was sick, I was grateful that I was able to find something he liked. It was a gift from God in his final days before passing over the Rainbow Bridge.
My senior cat adores them, and she licks the broth but ignores the "meaty bits. " My other cats will occasionally finish for her, but not always. I realize they don't provide complete nutrition, but she finds it difficult to eat other solid foods. This is a nice way to persuade her to consume some food. My only gripe is the exorbitant cost of these. For God's sake, they're primarily broth! Anyway, they save me the trouble of making my own (which I've tried and my cats don't like). I'm not sure what it is about these that makes them so appealing.
