I had been buying this food for our cats for quite some time when I noticed that one of them would only eat a small portion of it before giving up entirely. I didn't give it much thought until the other cats began leaving half-eaten portions in their bowls. I noticed slivers of bone in the bowls at that point. I emailed the company the day I discovered a large hard piece of what appeared to be a fin. "We'll inform quality control," they said, "and the rest can be returned. " Between my last email to the company and the announcement of their product recall, one of our cats died from an unknown illness. Because of the poor quality of their food, I stopped buying it and foolishly fed the remainder to the only cat who would eat it. The poor cat had been sick for several weeks, vomiting and having diarrhea. She is, thankfully, doing much better now. br>br>Since the recall, when the cats stopped eating this garbage, they haven't thrown up in a long time. Until the food was recalled, I had no idea how bad it was. br>br>For more information, search for "Midwestern pet food recall. " br>br>Don't be fooled by foods labeled as "holistic," as they couldn't care less about your pets.
So stinky, but I'm not a tuna fan. My cat isn't bothered by the smell, as she devours this in no time. I like that the pouch can be recycled through a program called Terracycle, which earns money for my school.
Constipation is a problem for my elderly cat, who is on pain medication for arthritis. This is the only pumpkin dish I can get her to eat. We've had no issues since giving her this a couple of times a week. I'm not sure if it's because of the extra fiber, but it's certainly more convenient than using a laxative or stool softener.
3 cats if kibble is given to them as well. Pumpkin aids in the elimination of parasites. This flavor is a favorite of my two cats. I'd like to see a couple more of theirs.
This, as well as other canned Earthborn, is a favorite of my 15-year-old kitty. I never expected her to enjoy pumpkin, but she does. Fiber is beneficial to her stomach.
