First and foremost, when I took them out of the package, they reeked like a cheap rubber tire. I threw them in the dishwasher right away and they came out odor-free, so I decided to give them a shot. It's difficult to get on and they don't feel very safe. But it was the fact that the silicone was flaking off after only one use that sealed the deal. My dog's food contained small shards of rubber! I threw these lids away and went back to using aluminum foil to cover my cans. These are extremely hazardous items.
