It's amazing how much cleaner their (guinea pigs') cage stays. The hay holder was an instant hit with my girls. This item is made of canvis, which is a very durable material. For feeding harmony, I recommend ordering one for each critter. My only minor criticism is the chemical odor. When I first opened it, I left it outside for a few days and it had no odor. Also, when refilling hay, keep my girls out of the dust. I take the bags out of the enclosure and fill them with hay from the supply. There will be no sneezes from the guinea pigs.
I had to hook them in an unusual way to get them to hang at a good level because they were in a C cage. My piggies (who chew everything) haven't even tried to chew the bags so far! Would you buy it again?.
The quality is not the best. Our previous hay bag was made of a durable nylon and lasted nearly a year. This one is made of a heavier paper or fabric. In a single day, our rabbit chewed it up. I'm not happy with it.
1 make my life easier, 2 keep my big eaters satisfied for longer than 24 hours, and 3 reduce the amount of hay in my house! Finally, I've located it! I stuff them into my hay bag and close it with Velcro. There's no spillage out the side or back because I clip them in the cage's corner. They don't waste hay by raking it all over the place and then using it as bedding. They last two weeks if you have two full bags and two adult guinea pigs. I need to refill both bags four days before they expire. They're also made of durable fabric that hasn't shown any signs of wear after over a month, indicating that they're holding up well even with little chewing teeth.
So, this didn't work out as well as I had hoped; my guinea pigs still made a huge mess with their hay, and getting to it was difficult for them. When I put it inside the cage, it sat on the bottom, which was quite unpleasant. Perhaps someone else will be able to make it work for them. I'm not angry with the company; rather, I'm angry with myself for not doing more research. So I gave it three stars for ease of use because I didn't find it to be that simple. Someone else, on the other hand, may be able to solve the problem.
After a few days, there is usually a pile of soiled hay on the ground, but it appears that the pigs have finally eaten almost all of it. I bought this two-pack to put one in my boys' cage and one in my girls' cage (pictured), and I'm going to buy another set so my boys don't fight for space in the single litter box.
Loading the hay is a breeze because you simply open the velcro and place the hay inside. Bags that are both attractive and durable. especially considering the cost!.
These aren't huge, but they'll hold plenty of food for my mini lops. I have one for each of my bunnies, and it holds enough hay for several days. I fill them every night, and they've never been empty.
