There are a variety of options. You can choose from a range of default refresh rates of 3 to 30 minutes. A longer time interval conserves battery power - Even with a 3 minute refresh rate, our battery lasts more than a week. br>br>You can also use the "Track" feature to get a 15-second update on your GPS location. This setting would be ideal for tracking down a moving pet. Although the battery is depleted more quickly, the tracking is almost real-time. Not quite as quick as Waze or Google Maps on your phone, but certainly fast enough to locate a lost pet outside, even if he or she is moving.
It's been almost two years since I've been on a ten. He started as a 6lb puppy and grew to be a 5lb dog. It's fastened to his harnesses by us. As long as your AT is in good shape, you're good to go. If your area has T LTE coverage, you'll be able to track your pet if it ventures outside of your safe place and the range of your home wifi. Cats are more difficult to track because they hide in places that are difficult to detect, such as under cars or in thick bushes. The battery life of your Whistle is determined by the amount of time your cat spends outside your safe place and wifi signal. Because it is no longer in battery save mode, the battery depletes faster as you spend more time outside. Whistle comes with a 90-day trial period to see if it's the right fit for you. It's not even close to real time; by the time it alerts me that my dog has escaped the yard, he could be miles away (border collie). In the case of false readings, there was no assistance from customer service. When he is right next to me, he claims to be across the street. He said he was about a block away from my neighbor when he went there. It is something that I do not use. I've only spent a small amount of time talking to customer service and putting the system through its paces. I'm stuck in AT right now. T yearly contract without having to pay 43 dollars. I'm a dog trainer, and my dog knows how to come to me, so I don't need it. He's six years old and has been able to walk without a leash for the past 18 months. When I can't find him in our woods, I just want to know where he is. So, no, it's not a good idea to use it to find a missing dog! Teach your dog to come when the whistle is blown.

I've had the Whistle 3 for over a year and rely on it on a daily basis. You get a bad location every now and then, but it's rare. Because it was recently lost, I decided to upgrade to the Whistle Go Explorer. Longer battery life and the ability to pick up a weaker cell signal are the two most significant advantages. The disadvantage is that it does not work well and that support is poor (for Whistle, track support 528637). For some reason, this Whistle alternates between telling me my dog is at home and displaying the current location. Whistle support has been confirmed for the full AT. I'm 1/2 mile from home in an open field, and I'm waiting for a T signal. I've been walking the same field with the Whistle 3 for a year and have never had an issue. I asked for a replacement Whistle Go, claiming it was broken, and received crickets. I recently purchased a Fi Collar and tested both on my dog at the same time; Fi performed admirably and there were no false location reports. I've sent Whistle copies of my iPhone screen to demonstrate that they're having issues. Maybe I have a bad unit, or more likely they have firmware bugs, but if you buy anything, get the Whistle 3 until they figure it out. I offered to test another unit in addition to the Fi collar if they wanted to send me one, but this one is still within Amazon's 30-day return policy and is being returned as defective, meaning Whistle has lost a customer. I'll update this review once I've thoroughly tested the Fi Collar. I'm working on a project that requires some creativity. Husky on a leash who likes to run, so a good tracker is required. When I'm hiking in the mountains, I use Dogtra, which is RF-based and good for a few miles but only has a day's battery life, but it's better than nothing when there aren't any cell towers.
This is the most ineffective product I've ever purchased. My dog is an English setter who adores running and has successfully escaped from my home in the past. As a result, there is a strong desire for a GPS. It doesn't happen often, but when she does, she's difficult to find. br>br>Aside from the fact that this is my third whistle (the prongs on the back of the first two broke off and the GPS wouldn't stay clipped on), the most serious problem is that it simply does not work. Before we could grab her collar, my dog bolted from the car on Christmas Eve. There's no way I'm going to be able to catch her. (I was relieved!) I opened the Whistle app. GPS! We're going to track her down as soon as possible! It only says she's 0 once. The distance is 5 miles. We arrive at the specified location, but she is nowhere to be found. It's not surprising, given her speed, that I go to refresh her location and. . . nothing. Nothing. br>br> FOR THE NEXT TWO HOURS, HER GPS DIDN'T CONNECT AGAIN. br>br>We looked for hours, long after it had darkened. I checked the Whistle website to see if our location was covered by GPS. Nothing. "We can't seem to connect to Valla's Whistle. " ” ? REALLY? You can't find her signal the one time she leaves the house? You can track her activity fine while she's connected to the internet, but this is a GPS COLLAR. br>br>Finally, a caring neighbor discovered her covered in needles, but not before she blew out her back paw, thanks to NextDoor and her microchip. We would have found her sooner if she had been wearing her original collar with my name and phone number on it, but we switched to the Whistle collar to keep the tracker on because the clip it came with for her original collar kept falling off. We would have gotten her home SO MUCH FASTER if we had just kept her original collar on and not spent the money on Whistle (the woman who had her had to track down our number via the microchip). It could've been a lot worse. br>br> I was relieved at first, thinking Whistle would help us find her quickly, but all I did was keep hitting "update location" over and over for hours, with no luck, until she returned home and was within wifi range. br>br>Don't waste your time or money on this. When it comes down to it, a whistle won't help you.
