Hartz UltraGuard Flea & Tick Collar for Cats and Kittens, 7 Month Flea and Tick Protection and Prevention, Reflective Collar

I'd heard bad things about HARTZ but assumed that most people were exaggerating. Boy, was I wrong! I noticed a lot of powder when I unfurled the collars, but it wasn't unusual to me. For the first day, I put them on the cats, and they were fine with it. They began to vomit on the second day. One cat vomits every now and then, but my caleco never does, so that was strange, and by day three, they were both drowsy. When I picked up my male, there was a strong chemical odor on his collar. I took them out and threw them away right away. The cats began to perk up after a few hours. My 15-year-old male was back to his old cranky and alert self, while my female was hungry and energetic. God be praised! A cat died of a blood clot after wearing this collar, according to a story I read. I'm so glad I smelled them and took them out! It's back to Advantage now, I suppose. Please dispose of these. They aren't worth buying. There's a reason why they're so cheap!.

Flea collars are preferable to the flea drops that my veterinarian sells. Fleas are effectively kept off my pets and out of my home when I use them. Flea collars have been worn by our family cats since I was a child, and they have had no negative effects on their health or lifespan. Some of my cats have developed skin problems as a result of the drops, and I'm concerned that they might ingest it if I don't apply it properly. br>br>5/6/2016 UPDATE: This brand of collar is still being used successfully on two indoor/outdoor cats. They keep fleas at bay, which in turn keeps tapeworm at bay. Some commenters claim that the collar isn't breakaway, but all of the ones I've bought have a breakaway snap under the buckle, and I know it works because I've had kitties come in without collars on a few occasions. Fortunately, both of these can be replaced for a low cost. When I'm out calling a kitty with a flashlight because she's too busy to come in for dinner, the reflective strip comes in handy.

We were able to get this on our cat after a while. Just a little cuddling and a smooth connection - When our cat gets up from light-colored surfaces, he continues to scratch and we continue to see black flea dirt. It's been on him for over a week now. br>It only gets one star because it appears to be completely ineffective, despite the fact that the package claims it will last up to seven months. In our experience, this is not the case.

We put these on 12 cats in total, and all of them died within a week! We had to remove them all after the first death because it was too late. Save your money and spend it on something else.

It's a good deal and it works. I don't have anything negative to say. You'll probably get some powder on your hands while putting the collar on your cat because it's almost completely covered in powder. Most people would be concerned about this, but my cat has had it on for about 9 months (and it's time to replace it soon) and is no different than she was before. Of course, before doing anything else, you should wash your hands thoroughly. br>br>How well does it function? My cat is now a full-time outdoor cat, and when I first moved into this house, the back porch (where the cat was at the time) was infested with fleas. I ended up letting the cat out back so he wouldn't be trapped with the fleas (I also took care of the porch), and I bought this collar to help the cat ward them off. Since then, I haven't seen a flea on him or any evidence that he has been bitten by one. I'm not sure what else I can expect.

So we've been buying these for a long time. This is my first time using a reflective type. br>br>Do the colors matter? My grandmother believes it, but it's actually a maintenance item. At this price point, this isn't your only line of defense. The ones that cost around $60 for three months work well.

My cats spend the majority of their time outside, and they were too young for topical gel when I bought these, so I bought these instead. The collers did a great job despite the fact that they are outside cats. The reflectors on the coller are excellent and aid in visibility at night for pedestrians and vehicles.
