Product Description

The KIMOE Dried Mealworms are rich in protein and multivitamins and can improve bird immunity, increase egg quality and quantity, as well as keep the birds from perishing during the winter. The mealworms will also attract birds to
It is easy to remove dried mealworms from Zip Top bags that can be resealed for reuse. If you re-seal the bags when you are not using them, they will keep better crispness and flavor, and there is no need to refrigerate.

Does a trail mix with these taste good?

What would prevent them from being there? Right here on Amazon, you can buy mealworms that are intended to be consumed by humans. The same is true for these as well. Do you really think a human cannot eat these because they're not flavored like Doritos? There is nothing better than eating mealworms.

From where do these products come, how are they processed, and how are they ?

On the package, it specifies that they're made in China, but does not mention where the crops an address in California which may indicate that they are packaged there. This does not state that the ingredients are suitable for human consumption, but it does list them all. In addition to feeding the blue birds, I've noticed that other birds enjoy them as well. Here is what I hope will help.

A great value for an outstanding product! As a student, I have three (3) This backyard fountain definitely draws many birds and even some rabbits in the summertime, especially during the heat of the day
5/5

In the course of the last year, I started putting a cup of safflower and sunflower seeds, as well as a cup of mealworms, I quickly learned that "a cupful" of anything is simply not sufficient. I found it very costly to purchase a few ounces of each of these items at the local grocery store. It was common for me to go through 5 pounds of mealworms in less than a week for a year. It cost me $40 plus for 5 pounds Finally, I started looking for a better price on bulk bags of mealworms online.

I was concerned that if I bought cheaper mealworms, they wouldn't be as good as the ones I bought. It was not true for me. It only cost half of what I was paying for 5lbs and the quality of the worms was excellent! During distribution, the mealworms are packaged in oversized resealable bags. They don't have a vacuum seal and they're not sealable To prevent them from being crushed to powder, they are packed tightly. Each one of my two 5lb bags came packaged separately and in a sturdy I know I'll be ordering from Kimoe again and again, in the future! The birds love them and I know I'll be continuing to order from them! There is no doubt that Kimoe mealworms are worth trying. It's the highest quality for a great price, there is no doubt about that! Rich

You're getting the best bang for your buck
5/5

You will find companies who will try to sell you products that are top of the line. Their item is the same as one you can buy at a generic store. Most of us don't have a lot of money to spend on bird seed, especially when it comes to bird houses. Over the years, I have been an avid birder, an amateur. Buying expensive bird seed is not an option for me. I nevertheless know how to manage the values in a way that is safe for There is no doubt in my mind that it is the best purchase I have ever made for wild birds. A mockingbird, a hermit thrush, a Carolina wren, and an eastern bluebird nest in and around our house during the winter. Mealworms are one of their favorite foods. The company knows how to make the most of your dollar while still putting back far more than you expected for the environment after all that has been destroyed by humans.

Mealworms are very nice
5/5

The word my wife used when she told me this morning what it was all about. It's a lot of mealworms! Wow, you got a lot of worms! We're impressed at how many dried mealworms are in just 5 lbs, and the fact that they are mostly still whole, even though they're fragile, so that reveals some care in handling, processing, and packing them. I consider it a "plus" that there is no unpleasant odor to what is basically a giant bag of dead grubs. We feed them to wild birds, who don't get as excited about them as they do about live mealworms. The shama thrushes were initially hesitant to eat these over the live one we've been feeding them, but after some hemming and hawing, they gave in and ate As they are taking the same feed to chicks, we had to take the somewhat messy step of hydrating them so the chicks would not dehydrate and die from being fed super-hydrating feed. The worms are dried out. Making a soup of worms and water, letting them drink it, is the right way to do this. Although they still don't have the consistency of live ones, the adults can give them these to the chicks so they will at least stay hydrated. My report for now will be available as needed, but so far, we have been very impressed, and I would have to say that the birds have been as well. This update is on 9/15/19 - Please update your records if you have not already done so. As a result of the great product and to update the review just a bit, I've raised this from 4 to 5 stars. Our treatment of the shama thrush family on the island has produced many chicks I am very happy about these! The number of children from one set of parents this season is at least nine The five of them we interact with every day are still here. Our primary source of food is this concentrated food. We use live mealworms only for things like hand-training where a high-energy food will suffice I believe that a value treat is more valuable. These are what I am usually cooking at the moment My induction cooker uses a couple of cups of these to make them, and I cook them for about 5 minutes, then I eat them. For 10 minutes, then let them sit until they are dry. I then put them in a plastic container to freeze, and then let them drip down the drain to dry. Having this option is useful since even refrigerated cooked ones tend to go bad pretty fast Cooking and draining them means they can be frozen after they have been thawed and can be handled easily.

I thaw them by putting a handful of frosty-looking peas in a mesh bag and pushing it around until thawed Using a heavy base, place a low glass tumbler with cooked worms, add water to within an inch of the top, add a little more water, and stir then. Thawing of the worms is quick with this method They will crack apart when placed in the birds' beaks when frozen, just like when they do when they are dry, and very little will be Besides, birds might not be the healthiest animal to eat this much ice. However, I have discovered that they actually prefer it when I keep it floating in the tumbler rather than out on the ground. While I was doing that, they kept going to the tumbler instead for "iced worm soup", which they seem to take as an indication of how to serve it rather than what they need to do to thaw them. It does not matter if I put some out for them nearby -- they will fight about who gets to eat the cold, floating mealworms. In the end, it will deplete more and the worms will land on the floor There are three of them, one of them doing unnecessary "foooo" calls, staring at me as I make more tumblers on the landing. Thus, several fledgings of chicks have been getting their primary food from this product, since live mealworms are expensive and we have not been able to raise them successfully. We do not assume the responsibility of having to continue to support the enlarged population of shamans that we increased the carrying capacity of the yard for. Each personality has been given a name and we know who each one is. In all, there are five main characters Birdlet, Bird, Chickie, Cheepy, I find it funny that a bag of worms leads to a lifestyle devoted to birds.

A happy bird is a happy bird

It is likely that I will make another purchase. Florida is my home state and I bought these for our native and nesting birds, especially the bluebirds, who live here year round. The first time I used a bowl feeder, I put about 3/4 cup in there. After 6pm, there were only some partial and worm crumbs left (I know, gross!). Next morning, it looked like they hadn't been touched, but by 6pm there were only a few crumbs left. I (left) the room. As of now, I'm filling the bowl every day. I would like to make a couple of quick observations 1. Five pounds of meal worms is a lot of weight. 2. Worms were shipped in a box purchased from amazon. com. The box that came with the Amazon order had another box inside. I found this interesting warning to be true. Those worms should not be eaten by humans. How could anyone have known? I thought I was being careful when I opened the tape on the second box, but I was not careful enough, or else I would have cut a 3 inch gash in the giant bag of mealworms. In response to opening the box, the dry worms began escaping the hole and making their way onto the While the bag was still in the box, I cleaned them up and taped over the cut areas with a piece of clear packing tape. I have solved the problem. Packing this box TIGHTLY leads to the bag being packed very tightly, so be careful when cutting it open.

You can feed them to the bluebirds! If you may During the wintertime I spend a fortune on live meal worms
5/5

Freeze dried worms have a positive economic impact and birds tolerate them during harsh weather conditions. The best way to protect them is to coat them in It is hard to get bluebirds to eat dried worms when live worms are presented since they are not stupid by any means.

Chickens and ducks will love this! A 2lb box and a 5lb box were ordered
5/5

An excellent value for the price. There is a $6 difference between Tractor Supplies sales price and ours! It took one day for them to arrive. A new flock of hens is slowly being introduced to my existing flock, and with tons of mealworms for everyone, things go much more smoothly. It would be a pleasure to order from you.
