Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use it on a slate roof?

Doubtful. One side of the clip must be slid under the shingle, and you'll need a surface with enough friction to keep it in place. I'm worried that the slate will be too thick and won't be able to hold the clips in place.

Will these hold a metal roof in place?

Metal roofs are not compatible with the grip clip. Thank you, Brook br>Radiant Solutions Company br>

What's the best way to figure out what size you need?

The only size available was the one I selected. They did an excellent job. As you can see in the photo.

What kind of clips are used or available for a metal roof that does not have gutters?

It depends on the type of metal roof you have; if it's a standing seam roof, you'll want to use an S5 roof clamp with an SR-attached SR-attached SR-attached SR-attached SR-attached SR-attached SR-attached S5 clip. Both are available for purchase on Amazon. If you have a corrugated metal roof, you might be able to purchase a traditional nail-on roof clip and adhere it to the roof with adhesive. The shingle cable clips version of Godzilla! WHAT ARE THEY: pricey, strong, wide, malleable, and powerful clamping with barbs For a good drip, extend 2" past the roof's edge
5/5

To fit thick/multi-layered materials, plyers may be required to bend/pry them open. Lay shingles on top of each other in a pattern similar to that of architectural shingles. What they aren't: br>br> There is no need for any additional hardware, fasteners, or glue. Do not compromise the structural integrity of the roof. This isn't a flimsy structure. not insignificant If you try to pry them off, they won't come off.

I bought these a year ago and finally used them to replace the cheap box store clips that the roofers used when they replaced my roof and then reinstalled my heavy duty cables
4/5

Originally, the cables were secured with nail-like devices. through clips, which have a leak issue but are still quite strong. Although the price of the Grip Clips made me gag, considering how simple they are and are made of cheap bent aluminum, the design is very clever, and they were as advertised in terms of ease of installation. In comparison to the stuff you get at the store, the grip barbs are extremely aggressive. I have heavy-duty heat cables, and I'm curious to see how long they last.

Clips for preventing ice dams that are outstanding
5/5

These are far superior to the clips included in most heating cable kits. I love living in the Pacific Northwest, where ice dams in the high desert of Central Oregon cause roof damage on a regular basis. I've installed heating cables on my roof several times. The most common method is to use Home Depot's supplied clips. Then I came across these clips, which don't damage the shingles and don't come loose in a windstorm or during a heavy snowfall. The security they provide is well worth the money.

Anything else would be a waste of money! It was well worth the money because it made installing heat tape on my composition roof a breeze
5/5

After you've warmed up the tape with these clips, it's simple to go back and adjust the length. To keep the shingles in place, I had to tap them with my hammer. The grip clips should be replaced with zip ties, according to the manufacturer's instructions (in the box). I did that, but I think I'll go back and install the grip clips in the bottom row of shingles anyway, just to make cleaning the pine needles out of the gutters easier when I need to.

Heavy-duty cords require heavy-duty clips
5/5

These heavy-duty ice cord clips are XL in size. br>br>In the end, I went with the smaller clips because they were much less expensive. I strongly advise you to purchase the heavy-duty cords. They are far superior to the low-cost ice dam cords sold in stores. Even just putting them in the bottom of your gutters will keep everything melted and dry! After the first snowstorm, I was incredible!.

They fulfilled my requirements
3/5

These were purchased to secure a coaxial cable from an antenna across the roof to the window where it would be installed. I couldn't find any other metal anchors. The problem was that when trying to install them, they would bend and roll up, and they were expensive and difficult to work with. Once installed, they were remarkably secure.
