Zodiac R0445900 Debris Filter Basket Replacement for Select Jandy Pool and Spa Pumps

This is by far the best pool accessory I've ever purchased. If you're unsure because it doesn't look exactly like the basket you have now, but the part number is the same, go ahead and order it. buy it. I have two large palm trees in my backyard that produce so much funk that I had to clean my filter every day for about a month! This new filter is far superior to the previous one. It allows water to flow around the area on the other basket that becomes clogged. It also lacks ridges, which can trap seeds and other difficult-to-get-out materials. I've never spent more than 18 dollars in my life!.

For my Jandy Model JEP1, I purchased this item. The R0445900 model basket is required for this pump. On the internet, this appeared to be a slightly different shape than my perfectly cylindrical basket, but I figured I'd give it a shot because of the positive reviews. br>br>It was a perfect fit; the little nubs in the image go up against the side walls. It was the perfect fit. br>br>More importantly, unlike my old basket, I no longer have to jiggle it into place. The bottom of the basket has some guides that ensure a perfect fit every time with no jiggling. The holes are slightly smaller than the square grid holes, allowing for less debris to pass through. The fewer small twigs that make it through, the longer my filter will last.

First and foremost, let me state that I was hesitant to order it because it is referred to as Zodiac rather than Jandy. However, I can assure you that it is compatible with my Jandy pool pump. br>br>Compared to the original basket, this is a huge improvement. The first one split due to a lack of space for water to flow into the pump. The water pressure became too great when it became clogged with small leaves that had made their way past the skimmer baskets or through the main drain, and the basket split. This new design moves the basket away from the pump inlet and allows water to flow all around it, eliminating the need for a single point in the basket to take the pressure. When putting it into the pump housing, it's also a lot easier to position. Finally, it's a lot easier to clean, requiring only a hose rinse. The old one frequently necessitated the use of tools to remove particles that had become lodged in the basket's small square holes. I would not have waited for the old basket to break before replacing it if I had known about these improvements.

This was purchased to replace the filter basket on my Jandy/Zodiac Stealth series pump, which had cracked. The filter basket that came with the unit looks exactly like the one shown in the photo. However, the filter basket that was delivered was slightly different. The new basket is tapered at the bottom and has fins that keep it centered and away from the pump's wall. Instead of the square holes created by vertical lines and longitudinal circles, the new basket has round holes that have been formed or drilled. I'm not sure if this is a newer design that comes standard on newer pumps; br>br> However, after double-checking the dimensions, I installed it in my pump. It was a direct replacement that has worked flawlessly for over a month. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> This is now a 5-star rating for me. stars! I've had this for a few months and must say that it's a huge improvement over the Jandy/Zodiac basket. The original had ridges on the inside that got stuck with sticks and small rocks; To effectively clean the filter, I used to keep a screwdriver on the side of the house. The new basket, on the other hand, is SMOOTH on the outside and cleans up a LOT faster and easier than the old ones. Zodiac, you've done a fantastic job! I strongly recommend these baskets if you have the original baskets and your filter basket catches a lot of debris.

This was an excellent match for my Jandy pump. It's well-made, sturdy, and functional. br>br>However, when I clean the pool and empty this basket, I can't just flip it over and knock the edge on the ground, allowing all of the debris to fall out. The debris has a tendency to cling to the basket's small holes. br>br>So I'll get a hose and spray the debris out of the basket before re-inserting it into the pump. br>br>It's a bit of a pain, but it's not a major issue. Just FYI.

This debris filter was purchased to go with my Zodiac stealth pool filter pump. This filter has a different appearance and design than the original white filter that has been in the pump since the pool was installed. The original filter basket was much more difficult to clean than this one. This filter basket has a smooth inner surface instead of numerous ridges where hair and debris can become stuck. It used to take 15 minutes to do something that now takes only a few minutes. It now takes about 30 seconds to clean out completely what used to take 20 minutes. Even though the spa pump's basket does not need to be replaced at this time, I'm going to buy a second one because this design is much easier to clean. Because it has only been installed for a month, I am unable to comment on the life comparison. So far, it's been great.

I purchased this in the hopes that the new version would fit my Jandy Pool Pump, but the size is incorrect. Make sure you measure your basket carefully and take note of the alignment pin cutouts. I needed the Zodiac R0555500, which is twice as expensive. There was nothing wrong with the product; in fact, I was hoping it would work.

This elliptical-shaped basket is an excellent substitute for the original square-shaped basket. cylinder with a closed end It's less difficult to take out and replace. It must, however, be kept tidy. Because of the high suction pressure from the pump and the brittleness of the basket wall, if it collects too much debris, the sidewall will break.
