Questions & Answers

Are you looking for a K- Is there any difference between the 2005 and 2006 kits besides the chlorine test?

I have the 2005, and it also tests for chlorine, so I'm not sure what the benefit of the 2006 would be. It seems to work for me. I use an above-ground super splash pool that measures 17' x 30'.

In regards to the kit's name. What does Deluxe(High) mean by "high"?

Taylor's High Range kits measure chlorine concentrations in the range of 1 to 10 parts per million. Low-range test kits look for chlorine levels as low as 0. 25 to 2. 5 ppm.

Is there a test for stabilizers and phosphates included in this kit?

pH, alkalinity, chlorine, calcium hardness, and STABILIZER are all tested in this kit. It does not perform a phosphate analysis. That's something I had done at the pool supply store.

What would 22-year-old you be? What would 30 ppm chlorine look like in this test, and how would it affect the rest of the results?

Your test sample would be dark purple to very red at 30 ppm, which is extremely high. In general, it should be around 3-. If using chlorine, the sanitizer must be balanced first, followed by the ph and alkalinity.

I received what was shown, but not the more precise R871 Chlorine Test that I had requested
3/5

To begin, I'd like to state that they delivered exactly what I requested. Chemicals were 'up to date,' and they were in the same Taylor kit that I had ordered for the previous five years. br>br>On the inside, everything was fine and consistent- except for the Chlorine Test, which uses R871 powder and drops instead of R871 powder and drops for a quick and easy result. There was a 'drops only' / shades-only setting on the chlorine reading. color- a test with increments of up to 10 ppm (between 10 and 20 ppm) br>br>I can't tell what I have because the colors are so close together; as a result of my purchase confusion, I had to postpone the SLAM of my pool for four days until I could order the chlorine R871 powder separately. This is a great example of a test that is based on facts. br>br>Even though they sent what I ordered, I'm still giving this a one because I can't imagine you don't care if your pool has 10ppm or 20ppm of chlorine in it if you're buying a more expensive test kit instead of strips to get more accurate measurements. br>br>I'm sure there's a way to make this work a little better if you cut it in half, double it, stand on one foot, and face east, but why? When the R871 test will do it without a hitch and without attempting to determine whether you have-- really- pale- red, pale-colored a kind of red pale- plain, red what color, for example? If you're buying one of these kits for the first time, make sure you're comfortable with the'somewhat close' method I discovered. Also, if you're reordering, make sure you know which chlorine test you'll be receiving before clicking 'buy. ' br>br>It's my fault for not reading more carefully, and it's possible that it'll be close enough for you. Simply double-check!.

buy this. Take note of this! I used to take water into Leslie's twice a week when I first got my hot tub, and there was always something wrong. "I recommend that you purchase this item. that item should be purchased do this. do that. "Make use of these test strips, and so on. " After months of brown foam and out-of-balance water, I finally decided to invest in a water test kit and put forth the effort to learn how to use it. It turns out that it's not that difficult; now I can test alkalinity, ph, chlorine, and other parameters as often as I want, and the included booklet guides me through the process of making necessary adjustments to my water. Problematic water has been a thing of the past since then; before changing my water, I went four months of daily use by three people with no problems. I did it once more after that. So, if you're on the fence and having issues with your water, now is the time to make a decision. Simply purchase it! Later on, you'll be grateful.

With a sparkling pool, it's the most precise and rewarding

I began by learning the fundamental K-words. In the year 2012, the Taylor kit number 1004 was released. When I go to the pool store to buy chemicals, I also bring water samples with me. They claimed that my CYI was too high at 500, and that it was locking up my chlorine and rendering it nearly useless. To get the levels right, I had to drain half of the water. The next issue was hardness; the pool store estimated 1,000 but offered no suggestions. br>br> Eventually, I was promoted to the K-class. In 2005, I was curious about what was going on and wanted to confirm my suspicions. Calcium hardness is 300, which is slightly high but not abnormal, and cyanuric acid is in the 180-200 range. Due to the warm weather and upper 80's water temperatures dissolving the Chlorine tabs with stabilizer, I'm hoping it's in the 200 range, which I'm hoping is at its peak. br>br>I strongly advise DIY pool owners to purchase this kit. Test strips can only give you a hazy idea of what's going on or if something is drastically wrong. While chlorine is the first line of defense in sanitation, other values must be tested to maintain a balanced chemistry. There is a learning curve, so patience is required. However, after a few rounds of testing, it becomes significantly easier and takes half the time.

It is both precise and simple

We just finished resurfacing our pool with a pebble tek surface, so I bought this test kit. My pool company instructed me to maintain a PH of 7 or lower. The PH will rise for the first month or so because the surface is new, I was told. Every day, I use this test kit and add acid as needed to meet the kit's acid demand. I'm overjoyed that I don't have to drive up to the pool store to have my water tested any longer. (To disseminate the color comparisons in the container, you'll need a keen eye. ) You should have no problems if you conduct your inspection in bright light. (I did notice that the cap does not fit perfectly, which means that when you shake the water to mix it with the chemicals, it holds it down tightly and prevents water from leaking out. ) br>br>I just wanted to double-check the results, so I compared my Taylor test kit readings to the pool store's. They were taken from a pool water sample. The outcomes were exactly what I expected. There were no deviations at all. br>br>This kit includes all of the tests you'll need to check the chemistry of your water. You will not be dissatisfied with your purchase.

Kit of high quality - precise outcomes - This is an excellent kit with a fair price

Titration testing is more accurate than strips, and it is also less expensive and, in my opinion, more reliable than photometer testing. The "Watergram" water balance calculator (included) is a great little tool for helping decide where to make adjustments toward sustainable balanced water. Taylor does it right and has been in the business for a long time. A small (waterproof) book titled "Pool and Spa Water Chemistry" was also included. It's a fantastic piece of work! It's chock-full of useful, tried-and-true information and well worth your time. We have a new spa, and our well water is a pain to balance, but I needed to get it right. We've invested a lot of money in our spa, so I want to look after it, and above all, we want clean water. It's not a big deal to do titration testing (drops) - that is, if you are able to count: It literally takes minutes, and I have the most confidence I can get at home with this type of testing and a quality product; I've noticed that most high-end spa/pool supply stores also stock Taylor reagents, which speaks for itself. I did add to my kit by halving a good quality plastic drinking straw and stirring instead of drinking. When adding drops, make a swirling motion. The process is sped up, and the mixture is good and thorough. After testing, I thoroughly rinse all of the components. The equipment is of high quality - - All components have their own slots. in addition to being an excellent storage container. For your pool or spa, this is an excellent investment.
