Questions & Answers

When using poolrx, can I or should I shock my pool?

I'm not speaking on behalf of Pool Rx, but we shocked our pool just before using this product, and when that didn't work, Pool Rx was recommended to us. We've been using it for a long time and have never had to shock our pool with it. We do, however, use chlorine tablets and ph on occasion.

Is it possible to use this in place of the filter cartridge? I'm hoping to use this instead of the cartridge because I'm having problems with it. ?

No, this product is not a replacement for filter medium; your filter still requires a cartridge. Is the pressure issue you're referring to a one-time occurrence or a recurring problem with PoolRx? If it's related to PoolRx installation, keep in mind that you should always clean or backwash your filter before installing a PoolRx unit or booster, and keep the pump running for at least 6-hours. After installation, it will take 8 hours. While the PoolRx minerals dissolve into solutiom, you may still notice a slight increase in pressure for several hours after installation. Your pressure will return to normal once the minerals have dissolved.

The total dissolved solids (tds) level is excessively high. Does poolrx still work without draining at high tds?

If your TDS level is at or above 4,000 ppm, you'll need to drain and re-fill your pool. Fill to reduce the amount of TDS in your body. PoolRx will be able to function properly as a result of this.

How many PoolRx blue do I need for a 25'x 50' pool with a capacity of 45,000 gallons?

I'd say two. I needed 3 because my tank was 15000 gallons and I only needed 1.

Use Copper Sulfate to save money
5/5

The chemistry is straightforward; just order some copper sulfate from Amazon for $4. When you need it, say in late spring, put 4 ounces in a pail with some water, stir to dissolve, then walk around the pool and "sprinkle" it. We have a 10,000 gallon pool, and this only works once or twice a year. The treatment costs about a dollar per year, at least for us in South Central Florida. Because it works in tandem with chlorine, you must monitor chlorine levels, but aside from that, it performs admirably. Your pool store will not recommend it because it hurts their bottom line. br>br>We had originally purchased the finished product shown here, which came in a nice flow-through container. We followed the instructions and put a plastic container in the water line running from the filter to the pool, and it worked. We began to wonder about the chemistry and why it worked at that point. And, as previously stated, we decided to use granular copper sulfate as a solution. br>br>Read the reviews on the copper sulfate website; you'll notice that the majority of them are very positive.

The best thing that has happened to my pool since it was filled with water! I really can't say enough good things about this product; if you look at the pictures, you'll notice a significant difference between the before and after, and you won't need me to tell you which is which

With this device, the water is completely invisible. br>br>To begin, here's some information about my pool: br>• I live in Florida, so the weather is warm almost all yearbr>• My pool is about 13K gallonsbr>• I have a salt chlorine generatorbr>• I installed it 10 months ago and purchased the recharge pack, but I have yet to use itbr>• People come over and literally compliment me on how clear my water is (weird, right? Don't be fooled by the fact that their children do not have green hair. If this is a major concern for you, you might want to go down a size from the recommended size. As you can see in the photo, it turned my pool filter a bright green color, which worried me at first, but it turned out to be no big deal. • If you're concerned about whether or not your pool guy likes you, don't say anything. • If you enjoy going to your local pool store to buy chemicals, this will drastically reduce your time there, and you may miss thembr>br>The two families I recommended this to and received feedback from LOVE it just as much as I do. I told a few people about it, but no one responded. I'm sure they'd have the same reaction. It's impossible not to fall in love with this. In case you're curious, I don't work for the seller/manufacturer and have no ties to them, but if they go public, I'd love to invest in their stock! In fact, their product is so good that I'm considering selling it. If you're wondering why it's not sold in pool stores despite its excellent quality, the answer is simple: they make their money selling chemicals. They'd be forced out of business as a result of this. A smart pool service technician would install one of these in every pool they service, and their customers would absolutely love it! They could make more money and be a hero to their customers if they didn't have to buy any chemicals. br>br>I hope that everyone with a pool begins to use this so that it can continue to be made! (I know, I'm a self-centered jerk. ) Seriously, I swear I'm not employed by them! br>br>All right, I've finished the (by far) longest review I've ever written!.

Water that sparkles, sparkles, sparkles, sparkles, sparkles, sparkles, sparkles, sparkles, sparkle I was getting really frustrated a few weeks ago because I couldn't seem to get the algae in my 14,900 gallon inground pool to go away
5/5

People, I tried it all. The algae would be killed by the yellow out product, but it would come back after a while. I have no idea what was going on with the water because it was chlorine blocked. I decided to purchase pool rx, despite the fact that I thought $62 was a bit pricey. On the back of the package, there were instructions to follow. After cleaning my filters, I placed them in the pump basket. People, the algae was gone in just two days! Water not only appears to be beautiful, but it is also clean, balanced, and sparkling. I even took the water to Leslie's pools to be tested because I couldn't believe my own results when I tested it at home. Pool rx actually works, people! My pool is inground, pebble tech, and has a capacity of 14,900 gallons. It is 13 years old. I'm going to buy more. Even if I have to purchase it once a year along with the booster, it is well worth the money.

For about 6 weeks, it seemed to work, until I covered the pool
3/5

I was very pleased with the results when I first put this product in place. I followed the instructions and thoroughly cleaned my filter before placing it in my pool filter basket (the one closest to the pump). Because I have a high conditioner level in my water and live in arid Southern California, draining and refilling is not an option at this time. To keep algae blooms at bay, I had to use a near-exorbitant amount of chlorine. The water was crystal clear and had normal chlorine levels after I installed this product. There are no algae, and the concentration is less than 5 parts per million. Then it was time to put our pool away for the winter. When I lifted the cover to inspect the pool a week later, I discovered algae covering the majority of the walls. I understand that covers can exacerbate algae problems, but I thought this product was supposed to prevent that, regardless of whether the pool was covered or not. br>br>I contacted PoolRx customer service and received a prompt response. Unfortunately, it appears that my pool's cyanuric acid and total dissolved solids levels are too high for this product to work, which means I'll have to drain and refill it, which makes me grit my teeth (in my area, this will cost around $500). They did, however, provide a complimentary booster cartridge, which is a nice touch. I'll post an update after I finish the financially draining task of refilling the pool and re-balancing the water chemistry.

Look at the image below
5/5

I can't speak to the product's long-term viability just yet, but the image speaks for itself. After nine days of PoolRX therapy, this was the result. For the previous six months, the pool had been green and cloudy, despite numerous chemical treatments.
