The Rocky Mountain foothills and up against them are exposed to high, gusty winds (from the 50 to 80 miles per hour). A gust of 70 mph is expected. It was also a concern of ours before buying it whether it could withstand high winds or not. Despite our best efforts, it failed to hold up. I see one on display in a farm store on the plains further east of us that appears to be in good shape. The farm store may occasionally get high winds, but not the huge downdrafts that we get here in the Midwest. Depending on what kind of wind you get and how strong it is, this may hold up better or worse.
The shelter I have been using for two years now. This is the fifth year. Snow fell in deep drifts this year, along with 33 inches of fine snow. The two shelters were side by side. One shelter survived the snow well, but the other buckled and collapsed under the weight of the It is still attached to the panels of the corral. They are a great product, the cows and horses prefer them, and I will buy a new one.

My husband and I live in New Hampshire and have tried the 12 x 12 corral shelter with seven horses. Cover made of 5 ounces of water. During a quick moving snowstorm, a little over a foot of powdery light snow fell. The frame buckled and ripped, but it was also the cover that ripped.

It is because my granddaughter plans to exhibit cattle at the livestock show this year that we bought the shelter. I am attaching a photo to you so that you can see where the cover has started to separate and is torn. It has been installed for just over one week as of today, April 17th, 2019. An ideal shelter for a field would be one that could last three years. In Texas, if there is already one tear I doubt that the product will last one month, and so I have to give you a very low 2 star rating. When you ask about ease of assembly, it was fairly straightforward, although some of the printed numbers could not be read and you had to guess which way they were I might go back for another one if they could improve the cover to prevent it from tearing after just one week like the one I have now.
It is easy to tear. I didn't expect it to be so tall. I had properly anchored it and used T posts, but it started blowing over and tearing within one month. The anchor will be replaced with concrete, and the patched area will be reanchored. A patch kit or instructions must accompany the patch.
After my barn's roof caved in because of some heavy snow, I bought two of these shelters for my horses, despite the fact that I would need three people to get into any other kind of built shelter. Sadly, I was told to wait four weeks for the shelters to be up. It's a great product and there are people in my area who have used it for years, but you should be aware of a few cautions. The top cover of the book is only this. Both sides and back of the corral are separately sold, and the corral panels need to be purchased There are a couple of confusing instructions in the instructions. Take a look at this It is likely to be useful for some people. The lightest weight of the top is around three or four pounds. You'll need two to three and a half people to lift the top onto its 4) The anchoring that comes with this is inadequate. There is an addition to be made Posts or cement buckets buried in the ground can be used as tposts. The ratchet straps need to be upgraded. It is simply not good enough to use the ones that come with the equipment. • If you can, find a place where you can put these up where there is a bit of a wind break. It is set up in a pasture with natural trees and fenceline to break the wind so I was able to keep out of the I will be able to get by in this shelter other than that. These changes will be made to my barn later this summer, but the horses are mostly okay with them. Although the factory tested them in very windy conditions, they held up quite well.
I urge you to run as fast as you can from this product. I have built a ranch from the ground up, so I have never been so upset at a misrepresentation of a product. First, the box looks like it's been run over by a delivery truck when it arrives. In addition, I find the directions to be utterly misleading (I know that it is not the manufacturer's fault). You need TWO people to do this. When I was midway through putting it together, it said you needed FOUR people to do it. Secondly, the manual omits telling you that the webbing where the important part will be placed will easily come out if you're not careful, causing you to spend an hour putting it back. To be honest, I really don't think this manufacturer has ever actually followed the directions while assembling this product. Had they done so, they would have known that the directions were not adequate. It was certainly a huge pain to deal with the whole process. Rather than spending the money on a more secure and better enclosure for my John Deere Gator, I would have much rather spent it on a better enclosure. Another point that concerns me is this It wouldn't be safe for a horse to be anywhere near this. My horses would not be able to go near or in this thing because it is not suited for them.
This is the second one we bought. It took a little while to put them up, but they After we set them up, we planned to purchase the side panels if we found it to be a good, solid product. The area where we live has a lot of wind, so we were concerned about our stock being soaked by wind. Aside from Shelter Logic and Amazon, we have searched high and low for side panels, which are no longer available. An advertised price of $90 for a set of four can be bought for twice that amount on eBay. In case you need the side panels, do not purchase these! (
) Mon, 12/25 The magic happens! The side panels from Shelter Logic are now available here on Amazon two days after I posted my comment. The coincidence may very well have been accidental, I don't know. They have not been available on their own website for the past three days. I am glad to tell you this You can get them right now at Murdoch's Home and Ranch and enjoy.
This I bought for my horses so that their hay would be We assembled the box in 4 people's time over the course of a day. It took some improvisation to get things started. To start, there were parts missing, and we had to improvise. The poles had to be flattened and filed where the screws go to make sure that they would connect. There are two big problems with this tarp cover it is made of CHEAP material and does not even cover the top and sides fully. I can definitely tell that the directions were There were some steps missing, so we had parts that we didn't even know what to do. . . <extra_id_20> confusing, hard to read, and hard to understand. The piece of crap that it is is crap. Save your money and don't purchase it.
This is the only pasture in our property that does not have trees or a barn. We had to build a quick, relatively easy, and inexpensive shade shelter. To complete the setup, my husband and I had to spend about three hours from start to finish. This machine has been in use in our pasture for about 6 weeks. Three of our horses definitely spend a lot of time under it when it's hot or when it's raining. I'm happy to report that it has performed perfectly. Though I am not sure how long the covering will last, I did check the Shelter Logic website and they do have replacement covers for about $70, so I'm glad to know that if the original material wears out, we can purchase a replacement to continue using the net.
I have had it for almost a year and haven't seen any rips or tears. It lasts through a brutal winter and looks like you will get many years from it.
