The mister will burn out if there is not enough water in it. A lot of LEDs come with remotes which are only lights and are more affordable.
There is no need to use distilled water. In the event that the Mist Maker does not work when plugged in and immersed in water, it may just be defective. We tried different water containers to make sure the device was fully
In short, yes. There is an automatic shutoff depending on the level of water
I had a similar problem about 10 days into using it (for the Gecko that runs on it). Do you think distilled water might be the best choice?

Until I purchased this one I had no idea how much the old one wasn't working. I loved the fit and the delivery was quick.
In the aftermath of receiving a defected item, I received a replacement quickly. The defective item was returned to the company as soon as possible. misting machine worked well and created a nice smoky, colorful glow from our makeshift cauldron (a large flower pot with a clear plastic bowl inside that contains the water for the misting machine). This was the Halloween costume I wore last night.
The rest of the product is excellent!.
If you want to clone plants, these little mist makers are a must. You'll see little roots developing on your plants in about three days with this method since it keeps the stems just moist. As much as I love a good job, seeing something I've made work the way I planned tickles my tummy to death. For any gardener, I would 100% recommend this product. Additionally, for little displays and holloween pumpkins, I would highly recommend it! There are too many lights flashing at the same time and soooo much fog, so that it looks like you are Ah, ha. In reality, I plan on getting a few more to keep as backup in case I have to build more cloning machines in the future. Try them for yourself and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Thanks a lot.
It's functional, but it's not clean. However, there are a few significant details to note to plan for although the device works largely as described. If the mister is not secured with any tension on the cord, it will not sit flat or level. In any movement to the cord, there will be a tipping or cutting off The center will be placed here. Likewise, there is a lot of water coming out of the nozzle than expected, creating a lot of A jet of water came out of the hole about 9 inches in diameter, spraying upwards of 4" above the water line. If you intend to use it inside with smaller fountains or waterfalls setups, plan accordingly. The mister does the job in large bodies of water for outdoor usage, but it might not work very well with smaller setups. In our case, we are keeping it and modifying it in order to control the flow of water.
Mists do occur, however there are no led lights, even though it states it has them. The question now is how long it will last. In the model it replaces, a timer was provided (in this one, it does not) as was high and low mist (in this model, it is not) as well as the option of selecting the colors (in this model, it is not) All you have to do is plug it in. The only problem with a light would be the glare. It didn't have the selection, I know. My current misting bowl will be scrapped if I find one with everything I need that fits my misting bowl. It was really nice in the original.
Update On September 1, the purchase was completed. 29th of 2020. There is no life in it. It doesn't mist, nor does it light up.
I had my heart set on one of these for a long time. I make table top waterfalls and this fog effect makes them so lifelike. This comes with an attached control knob at the end of the power cord. Changing its position seems to do nothing to it. Based on the level of water above the center of the nozzle, the output is affected. As the water will evaporate quite fast when it is fogging, you will have to keep looking at It doesn't matter that it runs on 12v DC, if you hold your finger just above the nozzle, you could receive a shock. There is no pleasant feeling about it. Don't worry, I won't say don't buy it, it's incredible what it can do.
The first one I purchased had to be replaced after a month due to a faulty component. During the first two months of ownership, the replacement broke.
