Considering that I live in a coastal area, I'm not sure how well it will hold up to my coastal weather, but I bought it for a hose guard around my flower beds. The problem is. Even just on its own, this is adorable. I was very satisfied with the shipping speed and the quality of the product In the seller's note there is a tip on how to make sure the thread fits the leaf and bird (but I did not have the same problem that other reviewers had mentioned about not having enough room for both so I cannot comment on that issue). Excellent purchase! I am very pleased with it. Updated ** Sadly, it doesn't seem to be working anymore. There wasn't any indication of if it was a lawnmower or a trimmer. It is snapped off right away. Top portion is available for decorative purposes now, but the base portion cannot be used.
Is it practical? A verdict has been reached (jury has been hung). While the bird is quite attractive, I haven't yet installed it because I'm afraid of tearing the threads (needed to attach the bird to the pole) if I hammer on the pole with my maul to drive it into the ground. If I had to screw it together and hammer on the bird, I might not be able to handle it My bird might break if we don't take care of it soon.
(I think of getting a couple of nuts with the right diameter and threading to screw on top of the pole and hammering on them. )
I'm also a bit nervous about my hose making the bend around this small, dark area. The diameter of the pole is The diameter of the pipe was basically unchanged, so I ordered a length of clear "pvc" pipe.
It helps me protect my fragile plants when I drag out the hose when I order 2 of these. My first impression is that these are sturdy (I have only had them a couple of days) and well-made. As you can see from my picture, I love the fact that I can adjust the high and low settings. Because of my love of birds, and the fact that my yard is a bit of a bird sanctuary, these hose guides are not only pretty, but they are serving a much needed purpose.
I love the way this is made, well constructed, and sturdy. The second one was purchased after the first one was purchased. There'll probably be a big fight between my heirs over them!.
This is a strong and sturdy item. Here in Florida, it goes far enough into the sand. It won't just pull over after the hose is attached. It's painted with clear enamel like all my metal yard objects - I repeat this for every item I put I just wanted to make sure.
liked this product, it appears as a garden decorative item, but it is strong enough to prevent excess water from running into my flower bed when I am turning a Despite the fact that it is aluminum, its color is different from what appears in the photo the color is "rusty" cast iron. The top and bottom screw right into the ground, and the bottom is pointed, so it slides right in.
The stake is long enough for me to be attracted to it As I wind my way around the corner, it can reach deep into the ground to stabilize it yet still be tall enough to catch the garden hose. I like the way it looks.
It's not until I go to buy these other quality items at over twice the price did I realize what a great deal it is. I bought plastic hose guards at the same time that after a year in the hot sun in Sacramento I'm only going to buy metal shoes from now on. I think these little ones are.
