That seems unlikely to me! Nowadays, items that come from foreign countries are marked as such rather than identifying them as junk. Despite the fact that it tore the first time at 40 mph two seasons ago, it is still junk.
My understanding is that China is the culprit. In the first year of owning our boat, it was ripped apart.

The picture was purchased to hang on the boat slip at our house. Due to the fact that there are no numbers marking the slips on the water side, we needed an easy way to identify the slip. It's really good to see this guy out in the wind, he puffs up pretty well too. Despite the fact that it comes with a string and a clip, we decided to zip tie it since the wind can really be a problem and the water can really mess up the rope. A great product at a great price. He will make you smile every time you see him fly.
The fishy picture I saw before was not new. It didn't seem to work for him, but I gave him a shot. We will have to wait and see how long he lasts, as well as how well Nebraska weather treats him! The item is well built and the colors hold up. Our mistake was not simulating it accurately enough beforehand, since it is in fact larger than we originally anticipated. It's colors are bold so when you look at it, you first see a patriotic flag, and then you see a fish, whereas our previous one's colors blended together and appeared more fishlike. Good item, but not our cup of tea.
A ball bearing is not used in the swivel. lasted about two months, then was broken at the swivel, and then Would it not be feasible to add 50 cents to price if they used a ball bearing swivel? I would have given it a five-star rating if the swivel were ball bearing. In order to replace the cheap swivel with a ball bearing, we bought another one.
The color is pleasing to the eye, as is the effectiveness of the product. Our home is located in an area where it is extremely windy, so we routinely replace the wind sock. is not necessarily a criticism of the product, since it's hard to imagine any product lasting as long as our weather. This is something I strongly recommend!.
The pros are It has a nice design and can resist strong winds, so it's built well. The design of it does twist a lot, and I would have preferred a more direct way of holding the fish.

There was a flag pole on which this item was for about two hours. A steady wind of about ten miles per hour was blowing. The tail and fin of the boat were already charred when I took it down.
