As a finishing touch to my dog run, I've started a peacock family! br>It's even cuter in person. The colors on this peacock are stunning. br>To keep it from tipping over in the wind, I glued the feet to a brick paver.
It's a lovely addition to the decor in my yard. The materials are of good quality, and the colors are bright. $70 is the price. It should set you back around $45-$50. That's a good deal at $50.
Even though it is a fairly expensive garden decoration, I am very pleased with this metal peacock and am glad I purchased it. It's a large decorative sculpture (nearly three feet tall) that stands out in my large garden. The peacock is brightly colored and appears to be quite realistic. It's made of metal, so it'll last a long time, and it's easy to put together. The fact that there is only one U-turn is my only gripe. This is an insufficient number of shaped stakes included to keep the sculpture upright. If only one stake was used to secure the peacock, it would most likely blow over. As a result, I added two more stakes (I had a box of heavy-duty stakes lying around). To firmly secure the peacock to the ground, I used heavy-duty landscaping stakes (which I had in my garage). It can now withstand high winds without tipping over, as evidenced by the fact that it survived a violent thunderstorm last week that included hail and 50 mph winds. When the storm had passed, I went outside to find the peacock still standing proudly in my garden. After that, I went outside to look for hail damage on the bird. There were no dents in the metal or paint damage, which surprised me. Despite the fact that the hail was small (pea-sized), it caused havoc. I expected to find some kind of damage to the peacock because of its size, but there was none. This bird is a savage!.
It was simple to put together and looks fantastic in my yard, with vibrant colors. br>The only reason I gave it three stars is because I had to put a rock on the feet to keep it from tipping over in the slightest breeze. Making the feet/legs heavier would improve the design.
While I wish the peacock had a stronger presence, it is still lovely. The calculations are correct. Perhaps a measurement of the body without the feathers and legs, as well as separate dimensions for the feathers, would be useful. Despite the fact that my garden is small, the peacock appears to be quite small. It's likely that the number of rear feathers could be doubled. br>br>On the back side of the feet, I used landscape pins to keep it in place, but it needed rocks on the toes to balance it out. I was unable to secure both sides with pins to prevent it from toppling. It's a tad on the heavy side at the top. It's possible that it'll be blown away by the wind. br>br>In the light, the iridescence shines. I'm hoping the colors don't fade or chip and last a long time, as it's only been up for about two weeks. So far, it retains its gleaming radiance. There has been no rain, and temperatures have risen to the mid-seventies. In Texas, it's in the eighties.
The colors are incredibly vibrant and shimmery. They appear to be identical to the photographs, if not better. I was so taken with it that I bought it as a Christmas present for my husband. My adult son was looking for a Christmas present for me when he came across a variety of yard sculptures on my account. He, too, chose the same peacock from among the sculptures I had saved. Now that I have two, I have no intention of going back! Other reviews are correct in that it is top-heavy; however, I intend to use another reviewer's suggestion of gluing a brick paver to the feet. I'm going to spray paint the brick paver the same colors as the peacock! This was the only flaw, which is why four instead of five stars were given.
This peacock is one of my favorites. It's well-made and vibrantly colored. It has received numerous compliments. The only problem I have with it is that it can't stay awake. I've tried burying it, staking it, and so on, but inclement weather always takes it down.
This is a beautiful addition to my front yard. The peacock is beautifully crafted and incredibly simple to put together. I gave it three stars because, despite being simple to assemble, it is of excellent quality. heavy and topples. I solved the problem by putting a tent hook in front of the feet and a tent hook behind them - That way, it's very stable and won't topple over.
