When I received the butterfly wall art, they were larger than I expected. They're completely metal and yes, they would be safe to put outside. I put them in my living room because they look so good on the wall with some other metal art that I have, but they would also look great outside because my granddaughter loves them. The colors are so bright that they would show up really well outside hanging on your porch or deck whatever you wanted to do.
Mine is on the outside of my house, on a fence. We'll have to wait and see how long they last.
A flat area with a hanging notch is located on the back. To hang them on, I used screws to mount them to a block wall. I really like them, and I'm glad I bought them because they add a lot of character to my yard.
I hung mine outside by screwing a butterfly to the outside wall of my wooden shed and hanging it there (much like a picture). I don't think Gorilla tape would be suitable for use outside in the elements. I bent the wings to make them look more three-dimensional. I believe that if you hung them indoors on a sheetrock wall with gorilla tape, the tape would damage the wall, and I would not trust it to hold up the butterflies.

They are stunning, and I absolutely adore them. I lightly bent the wings to keep them from laying flat against the wall and taped the backs of them to keep them from moving around on the hanging nail when we open and close the door. I bought the purple set as well and combined the two.

These are impressively large and lovely. Keep in mind that they are all the same size, so they will take up a lot of space. When I ordered them, I was aware of their size, but they appeared to be even larger than I had anticipated. The colors are vibrant. It is well-made. My only gripe is with the hanger. There are three hangers on my other ones. One on each wing tip and one on the top. On each wing tip, there is only one. And, unlike my other hangers, the hangers are stationary and do not move around, so you must nail them down perfectly.
In general, I am pleased with my butterfly decorations. They look fantastic when hung outside. They're quite frail, so I'm thinking of storing them for the winter. They were a little pricey for the quality, but the colors are vibrant, and I'm happy with the set of three butterflies as a whole. Would suggest.
