The wood deck I have was in need of this product- A handyman recently restained my wood deck, and said I needed something that would let it "breathe" and not corrode the wood. It was purchased so that I could use it as a rug under our outdoor furniture on the deck. The mat we have in our motorhome is similar to this one. It isn't necessary that an item that works well during a camping trip will work at home. It is very well made, and looks very nice. I really like the color, but it is too light for use as a rug outdoors on a regular basis. In our chairs, the metal feet pull at the fabric, and if you are not careful when moving the chairs, they might tear a hole in it. I do not want to punch holes in the composite decking, but it has tie downs at the corners. Several times, I have tripped over the mat when a corner gets blown up by the breeze, or when one of the chairs wrinkles up, etc. I will use the mat this summer, then replace it with an outdoor rug in the spring. Our motorhome will be equipped with the mat when we go camping.

bought this for an outdoor "hanging out" area under an awning at the front door of my shop/radio shack/office/man cave in the detached building behind the house. It sits on cement pavers, so basically the same as a cement patio. My experience with it so far has been okay. It's not great for the price either. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, and the outdoor lawn chairs I've used on it have already ripped the plastic material it's made of into holes. I have no idea how long it will last, but it should work for now, and time will tell how long it will last. It really does not matter how it looks to me as long as it stays together. By doing this, grass will not grow up between the pavers and things will be easier to find if they have been dropped. I'm not sure if it's great, but it's not bad.
