There is a horrible smell in ours. The spray was bought to use indoors however, we have been airing it out in a friend's yard for a month now, and the smell of chemicals still persists. a strong carpet smell, but not as pleasant as a new carpet smell. We are very disappointed, so you may get one that is great as some have but you may also get one that is terrible as we had.
The plush texture makes it look like grass from a distance, and I have used it for our outdoor area where our dogs potty. There is no indication that the dogs find it offensive In my opinion, it was well worth the money. A faux grass that looks this good cannot be cheap.

My dog was getting on my golf practice mat so I got this to keep him away. A perforated bottom makes it easy to keep it clean and easy to wash as compared to the practice mat. It also keeps things cooler than the practice mat. It was great. I don't have anything bad to say. It seems to be more appealing to my dogs than my practice mat since the blades are more like grass than carpet. It would work well on a patio, etc. Worth it since the dogs would be able to roll on it as if it was.
