I put it down on my own- Even the most inexperienced DIYer can do it. My old lawn was dug up and a weed membrane was laid down, followed by sharp sand mixed with cement powder. Flatten, level, and repeat until you're happy with the result. Roll out the 'grass,' cut to shape, brush the pile to make it stand up, and peg it- simples. My dog enjoys it, as does my wife (no more muddy footprints in the house), and I enjoy it as well (no more mowing). If your pet uses it as a toilet, you'll need to throw a bucket of diluted disinfectant down every now and then to keep the odor at bay. The 'grass' appears to be genuine. Overall, I am very pleased with this product.
If you want to keep your dog healthy, skip this ridiculously cheap and poorly made product; the entire 5 x 8 foot roll was about as wide as a roll of toilet paper before I cut the paper thin tarp-like wrapping it came in. The scent that wafted off this stuff stung my eyes and is still in my throat as I drew my knife through the bottom end and the wrap opened and fell away a bit. I purchased this in the hopes that it would be close enough to the grass I purchased 9 years ago when I first got my puppy to not look like the flat green mini golf style outdoor carpet that is paper thin and brittle. I couldn't have been more off the mark. It had been 9 years and one dog's life of relieving itself on it, going through 100 degree summers and - I had bought the previous carpet at HD and it was expensive but really, really nice. When laid side by side in the driveway during a 20-degree winter, it appears ten thousand times better than the chemical role of death. This product is nowhere near its stated pile thickness, has the most pitiful "drainage" holes I've ever seen, and this isn't my first time buying the cheap stuff in Hope's lts. It's extremely stiff; there's no pile; it's just a flat matted plastic that's about the same weight and thickness as the cheap indoor mini golf equipment you can find anywhere for dirt cheap. I would have been better off if I had purchased that merchandise, and I will most likely do so now that this isn't going to last. I'm not sure why it's advertised as if it's safe for dogs, because this stuff isn't safe for you or your children. I'm not happy with any purchase I've made in a long time because it's cheap, and there's a very good reason for that. To be honest, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for any purpose; it's bottom-of-the-barrel, filthy, and nothing like the ads make it out to be. Take a look somewhere else. It's too bad there's so much of this kind of stuff on the market, because it's all suspect, and there's no way to tell what's good from what's garbage.
This item is woven in straight lines that stand out when placed next to another piece. It looks terrible when it's laid one way and then the other, with the weave lines at different angles. It even appears to be a different color due to the way the grass blades are arranged. Check out the images. br>When you're measuring, keep the weave lines in mind. On the pieces they offer, the suppliers should specify which way the lines run. I recommend specifying which way you want the lines to run when placing your order, i. e. Measurement that is the longest OR the shortest.
As a result, this product was well worth the money. I'd buy it again if I didn't know I'd have to wait a long time for it to arrive. It was well worth the money for the turf: I looked at a lot of different options for a month before deciding on this one. The purchasing process was a little difficult. a)I purchased this at full price and literally the next day after purchase, there was an Amazon coupon for 5% off that would have saved me $50. That only added to my dissatisfaction because b) the shipment had been delayed four times. It was delayed the first time due to an unusual situation involving the company and Fedex. Due to FedEx and a storm, the second time was delayed. The third is because who knows what FedEx is up to these days. The fourth was pushed back a day because FedEx didn't want to drop it off. Normally, this would not be a big deal, but anyone who has laid carpet or turf knows that you can't do it alone, so I was trying to arrange for someone to come by but ended up having to do it myself because the delivery was a bit iffy. br>br>The company was pleasant, but the entire experience was a bit shaky. I'd definitely recommend it if you're not in a hurry. However, if you have a tight deadline, I would recommend passing.
Even though I bought a few years ago for what I wanted, it still looks a little cheaply, I don't expect it to cost the same, especially since the speakers are 2 tone and so, I haven't found it a really good upgrade, but nonetheless pretty good.
