It is the suction that I am concerned about most. I have never used the dipper in the pool since the instructions were so small on the inside. As a result, I ended up placing them throughout my bedroom to create soft lighting at night. I now have everyone's full attention while I sleep. In short, the lights themselves are good. As long as they're tightly closed, they can remain at the bottom of a 4 foot deep pool for a long time without issues. I only have one complaint about the suction cups they seem to work really well at first, but then fall after walking Fortunately, I was able to find some pretty strong magnets on Amazon that really helped. Occasionally the kids will knock over the floating toys when they are hanging on the edge of the pool, but otherwise they hold up well.

I love how these lights look at night in my pool! I love how easy it is to use and how bright it is. This is a product I recommend The lights can be switched on or off using a remote control. They come with a single remote that controls all the lights at once or you can direct it to control a single light. The timer function and many color settings make it an excellent choice. Our pool is a metal stock tank pool and the magnets work perfect against the side.

A steel wall pool with an 18ft height has these on it. However, if they are hit, they will fall off. They are strong enough for them to hold in place, but if they are hit, they can come off.
