My vanilla was tan, but another review I read about it said it was white. I had to order both because it is hard to distinguish between the two online. It certainly isn't tan - let me make sure you know. A creamy yellowish color can be seen. Here is a side-by-side photo of the white and vanilla in the daylight so you can see the differences. In stark contrast to the white is the black. This siding is whiter than mine even though it was power washed just last week. I agree with others who have noted that these curtains are well-made and the material is not smooth (no grommets pulling away from the material as some others have noted). Like a very tightly knit pique, I would say that it's best described as being like that. It's evident that they're not light. Silver grommets measure two and a quarter inches from outside to outside with an inner measurement of one and a half inches. There is no doubt that these curtains are of high quality and well priced.
Yesterday I hung the outdoor curtains on my patio for the third week in a row. It is stated on the packaging that they can be used both indoors and outdoors. While the fabric is sufficiently heavy, they have been hanging for only 5 weeks and the colour has faded completely. In place of purple and navy, we now have I'm very disappointed because I bought them less than 2 months ago, didn't hang them immediately, and now they can not be returned after such a short period of actual use. Considering the rapid fading these curtains suffer from, what makes them a true outdoor curtain?.
