Across the top and bottom of MY BOX, the mounting holes form a rectangle. You shouldn't have a problem re drilling the bottom to make it fit your needs. Due to the size of this box, a substantial mounting plate will be required. Designed specifically for this mailbox, the POWDER COATED ALUMINUM BASE fits perfectly. We did not experience any problems with the fit. I will send you pictures if needed.
do not attach any numbers to the side of the frames, but it shows in some of the photos that there are It is bumpy on the surface. That is to say, I have no idea. I don't know how you would attach anything to the smooth top.
Due to the fact that you wrote a statement versus a question, I'm not certain what your actual question is. As with the old Balmoral mail box, we were able to use the same post for the new Balmoral mail box. Since I do not know who installed the new mailbox, I am unclear what you mean when you say "bracket or plate". I am sorry that I am unable to be of any assistance to you.

It's the first time I'm writing about this mailbox, but I love it! Elegant and very large, it reflects the style of its owner. Sadly, I had to return it, even though I wish I could have used
I already had a metal pole (in concrete) from another company that I purchased and installed before I contacted you. I hoped that installing the mailbox would go quite smoothly, but it wasn't as simple as I had hoped. The mailbox holes did not match the holes drilled in the support on the already-existing mailbox. After installing the post, I went to my local home improvement store to try and find an adapter. I found a universal plate, but it still seemed like I would need to drill holes in metal, and I didn't think I would be able to (I have never set anything in concrete before, and drilling extra holes isn't my strong suit). The mailbox seems to be designed to fit on a very specific pole arrangement so I decided to return it.
I researched this mailbox to see if there was any other solution, and there looked to be none, In spite of that, the return was great So kudos to Whitehall and to Amazon for making this happen smoothly. When I did UPS pickup, the next day my UPS guy came by to pick them up without any hiccups. Also, I would like to mention that I purchased this through Amazon Warehouse, and so I was a little concerned about the condition of the item (after hearing of a previous return), but it was in perfect working order! In that respect, I am very happy. I thought it was a great experience and it was a nice mailbox, but it did not suit my needs.
The place is stuffed with boxes that look like gift boxes for dress shirts, a gallon of water. . . since the US Postal Service has taken over UPS deliveries, we've seen lots of boxes going into it! This is a beautiful work of art. Everyone I show it to wants to know where I got it. Material metal, magnetic closure.
I like the design of the Construction of a solid nature. A big enough box to fit all those Amazon shipments. Closers with magnetic closure do a good job of closing, but they are Hardware is not included, but the bottom of the picture frame has 5 holes for mounting to a post, shelf, or ledge. Shop at your local hardware store for 2" x 1/4" brass screws, washers, and nuts. This post would be a good fit for it.
As in Amazon's advertisement, I have a post where the mailbox sits on an arm that sticks out 90 degrees from the vertical post. A mailbox such as this one was not designed to allow for such use. A metal flange is attached to the top of the mailbox by an inch indentation at the bottom. To modify it for my use, I had two inches thick plywood and cut out two rectangles (one on either side of the flange) and mounted them. My next step was to drill a few holes in the wood and the aluminum base. For the mailbox, I used three screws to attach it to the post arm. There are five screws with washers in an inch. Putting your arm inside the mailbox is the only way to turn the screws, which can be challenging, depending on your strength. The amount of push you have is not that great Leverage on the down side.
We are thrilled with it. We purchased a black steel Hamilton from Home Depot and had to do a significant amount of work with composite boards to modify the 6" x 6" square hole pattern. We recommend purchasing the matching Balmoral post. It was important to match our neighbors, so we bought a number placard from Lowe's. In hindsight I would have bought a full customized set with gold numbers and a customized last name if giving it another go. We had already set the post in two bags of concrete, so unfortunately we were not able to remove it.
I have had nothing but positive experiences with this mailbox so far. In addition, I ordered two oval number plaques for the box, but they are from a family-owned business in America. Numerous bad reviews were written about the crooked numbers on the Balmoral number plaques. It was necessary to return them and re-make them. They don't seem to have a quality control department that would examine them before sending them out to customers. I was very pleased with the " Made in America plaques I received.
Our rural mailbox had to be upgraded, so we purchased the aluminum post first. The old mailbox was out of place, so we used polished brass door sill plate to match the post. We also used black letters and numbers on the sides. I love the look of it. If that is the case, it would be a perfect.
It is very well-made, looks very good, is very high-quality and is large without being too large, the door shuts very well which prevents rain from getting in. I have had it for a few months, and the inside of the mailbox is still in great condition.
