It was a good idea to fill the stand with sand as it is being used on my deck and I will not be able to hold it down with the yard stakes provided in the package. My birds should be very pleased with this. It went together quickly, looks good and is a good size. There was a description that said you can fill it with sand, gravel, or even water to improve I didn't have sand and my gravel is way too big to fit in and water leaks It would be better if the spikes were longer and more than three to stabilize it.
