Sand was added inside the pedestal to secure the stability of the bird bath. As for the stakes, I put them into the ground, and they seem to work just fine. The ground was raked so it was nice and level before. I have never had a problem with my bird baths despite all the wind we've had. Adding more stakes may be possible, but it would be entirely up to you. I have three of these bird baths around my property and I enjoy watching the birds play in them.
I have a flat roof and a solar fountain floating in the water. I love how it works.
There is a 5 pound weight limit on this bird bath.

I was thinking of it as a Halloween decoration that you would hang outside, but it's made from thin plastic.
The stem could be filled with some small rocks if it was a little lightweight. It's hard not to love the color blue. It's a perfect match for our home!.
My attention was drawn to the bowl on June 18th 2021 because I noticed the paint had started peeling It was such a pleasure for the birds to have their bird baths for one whole month! It is a bird bath that I'm extremely disappointed in. That's true for the birds, too. Currently, we are only using it with water, not seeds. There is no need to use harsh detergent. There is nothing unusual about this. I don't see how it could have deteriorated so rapidly.
Despite the fact that I really like the style of the bird bath, I am disappointed that it is made from I called to order wrought iron when I thought I was ordering steel. The description does not specify that it is made of plastic, but it does state that it is made of polyresin. There is at least one advantage of metal stakes. On Amazon, the product is advertised in a bright blueish turquoise color that caught my attention. Nonetheless, the color is a much darker shade of blue and contains a lot more black than is described online. A simple assembly and a low weight make it an excellent fit. The price being charged on Amazon for a plastic item is not worth what it is being sold for. The fact that it's MADE IN CHINA is not that important to me, but it certainly is to someone else.
This could be tipped over by a finch. Plastic that is very lightweight and cheap. A blowing out of the candles on a birthday might cause it to topple! Plastic tube is not sturdy when filled with gravel. For the price, it is not worth the money. Your money is not worth wasting. My return would have been quicker if the box had not been thrown away.
I have updated I was able to level it out with a little tweaking. It is easy to assemble, but it is not precise. You can manipulate it toward leveling, however. Despite appearing to be undamaged, the birdbath doesn't seem to stand upright. There is a noticeable lean to one side.
I was amazed at how fooled my husband was by this birdbath despite his extreme skepticism. We anchored it well (using heavy tent stakes rather than the included stakes) and have had no problems. We are still waiting to visit our cat inside and see if she'll drink from it, but so far he hasn't. It's going to be a real challenge!.
The birdbath could be transformed easily into a hanging one.
