Questions & Answers

Is the mounting hardware included with this pump, and if not, what size are the bolts?

The mounting bolts for the pump were missing. You'll need to figure out what size bolts are on the engine you're using right now.

Will this pump fit a Tecumseh 10 hp engine? Also, how far apart are the bolt holes on the flange side that bolt to the pump?

If the diameter of the shaft is one and a half times the diameter of the shaft, It will not fit if the thickness is less than 1/8".

My simpson ps60843 pump is broken, and I'm looking for a replacement. Is this going to work? I'm not sure what the engine's shaft diameter is. ?

Yes, this pump will work with this pressure washer because it has a 1" shift engine.

Pump #4 is excellent
5/5

The correct nozzle size is 5 gpm @ 3600 psi for the money. The good news is that this pump has its own unloader that is bolted to it. The supplied unloader configuration will eventually need to be replaced. Unloaders always fail first, even if the pump is well maintained. Model DBC- is the one you're looking at. 1510a 4. Zhejiang Danau Machinery Co. produced 8 gpm at 3600 psi. In China, the company is called, Ltd. This is a high-quality commercial pump made in China. It is always possible to remove the unloader and water inlet assembly and convert it to a separate unloader valve with return tubing and a separate water inlet. as if they were big boy pumps- CAT/GIANT/etc. are examples of words that can be used to describe a type of animal Use nozzle size 5 to keep the right pressure and flow. 0 but not less than a four Any smaller than a 5 orifice will cause the pump to overheat and break down. I use a BS Vanguard 297cc 9hp motor to power this pump. This pump can easily be driven by an 11 horsepower motor, and a 390 cc engine would suffice. The pump is powered by a 13 horsepower motor, according to the manufacturer's specifications. Have fun with the pressure washer!.

It's just what they say
5/5

A General TX1015A was replaced by this. I was surprised to find that the replacement pump was a simple plug-and-play installation with no frills or snags. Actually, it's a little dull. I mean this in a positive way. There were no surprises, no modifications to be made, and thus no memorable blood, sweat, and tears drama. My existing Honda GX390 was cranked right up to the max. This pump replaced my General Pump TX 1510A, which in comparison to this pump seemed to be of higher quality and cost more. For starters, there's an obvious size and weight difference (if that means anything), with the General being larger and heavier, and also, the quality of the unloader on the General Pump, which I know 1st hand down to the packing washer was a much more involved build when taken apart, but perhaps that's why it gave me so much grief, was so much more involved. Anyway, lesson 1: don't rely on the unloader during downtime; simply turn off the engine! So, it's not the same pump as the General, which has all brass parts and a much larger unloader, which is probably reflected in the stats, but you know what, I don't care; I'm up and running, the price is right, it works great, and it doesn't seem to be as temperamental when it goes into recirc mode (trigger release down When the Honda engine is in recirc mode, it appears to be gentler on the engine, whereas when the General engine was in recirc mode, both the pump and the engine went audibly and visibly insane whenever there was any downtime or a drop in water flow that required a quick adjustment in water flow. To summarize, this leads me to believe that the engine's power output is significantly lower than the General engine's, but I can't confirm this. That would necessitate a side-by-side comparison using the same power setting dialed in on each pump's unloader. The one application where I'm likely to need that extra power up front is jetting a difficult residential sewer line clog from inside the house without having to worry about it backwashing into the workspace (the kitchen), which happened with this pump. But, to be fair, that could have happened with the general as well; I don't know, no one warned me about that potentially disastrous possibility or how to avoid it. It was a torturous experience. I'll add this: pressure jetting isn't a cure-all. Unless you have an astronomical psi at your disposal, like the city trucks, all or direct replacement for the sewer snake. After that, the snake will take off. br> If you're starting from scratch, this kit doesn't include any bolts or the easy-to-follow instructions. The metal axle rectangular slot key that connects the engine and the pump is missing. The bell housing (chambered area around the axle) where it interfaces directly with the engine and bolts on was also different in that it was more of a trapezoidal shape than the square shape bolt pattern found on the General, but it was universal fit and all the right holes lined up with no issues. It does have its own built-in inline venturi soap dispensing inlet (post-unloader valve), but it did NOT come with a thermal relief valve. I was watching the General crankcase explode while the engine continued to run, freeing itself from the shackles (gotta love the Honda). The pump's relief valve, on the other hand, showed no signs of relief, which I would have expected given the high temperatures generated during this dramatic jaw-dropping moment. dropping, and wand-dropping moment to produce some sort of visible steam/water/or gasping of both out of the temp relief valve, but there was nothing. According to what I've read, it's a last-cigarette, last-resort valve that's too little, too late. Regardless, I xplanted it from the general to this pump, and it fits perfectly. Depending on your existing accessories, you may need to modify the in/out fittings on this pump. I like to make all of my in and out fittings male, which is my insurance and way of idiot-proofing the pump from trapped air or water after finishing up, allowing the pump to burp and bleed out whenever it wants, on its own terms, eliminating standing water and theoretically preventing airlock from occurring, hopefully allowing for a trouble-free startup the next time I hand crank the engine using the pull. Finally, the oil level indicator is not as cool or as easy to read as the general, but it keeps me vigilant with a closer eye because I have to do a double take on that critical oil level. I can't say for sure how long this pump will last, but it's been a great replacement pump so far.

Beginnings are difficult
4/5

I took it out of the box, mounted it, oiled it, and changed the caps as directed before taking it to the shop to put it through its paces. Everything was securely fastened, there were no leaks, and it suddenly stopped working. For about ten minutes, it worked perfectly. The machine was turned on, and it went off. it's done. I have a pressure gauge on the machine, and everything appears to be in working order until you pull the trigger. I was hoping to use this for my small business, but I don't think I can trust it if the unloader valve fails so quickly. br>br>Newsflash- br>I had a heart-to-heart with the pump, and I said some things I probably shouldn't have said, and then I went to Amazon to air our dirty laundry, which wasn't right, so I calmed down and apologized. Turns out it didn't want to go, and I didn't want to send it, so I rechecked all my fittings and double/triple checked my settings, and she came back to life. Things aren't completely fixed yet, but it looks like she'll be staying for a while this time.

Results for GX340
5/5

I installed this on a 11hp Honda GX340 and knew it wouldn't quite reach the advertised output due to the pump being rated for a 13hp engine, but I got it installed yesterday and it was making 3200psi after some adjustments with the unloader. I'd guess it's producing around 4 watts. 4 to 4. 5 gpm. If it lasts, it'll be a good deal. Although the general 4/4 offering would have been fully plumbed, this was about a hundred dollars less. If anything changes, I'll let you know.

It's a great deal and it's simple to set up
5/5

It worked perfectly, was simple to set up, and was of excellent quality. I replaced a 24-year-old pump and used it nonstop for 8 hours. Parts that have been machined to a high standard. I'm glad I didn't pay a higher price for the same pump.

The pump's two halves do not fit together
3/5

The main body of the pump fit perfectly on our machine, but the two pieces that came in the package did not fit together, rendering the entire package useless and inoperable.

Gaskets are missing
3/5

I was able to obtain the pump. It was not difficult to set up. The unloader assembly did not come with gaskets for installation on the pump, so it received a two-star rating. br>br>Noticed that the water output orifice on the pressure hose outlet was extremely small. I have a stainless steel unit that I intend to install. br>br>I'll keep you updated if I can contact the seller about the gasket issue that prevents me from trying it.

Pump is extremely versatile and can be used in a variety of applications
5/5

On my own build, I used it on a 13hp Predator. It really works. At lower pressures (2200), it produces a large amount of water. Cleaning parking lots in a hurry has never been easier. For various applications, different nozzles can be used to increase pressure. It's great so far, as long as it lasts. The only way to know is to wait and see. br>6/20/10- Everything is still working fine. For the majority of jobs, this is nearly sufficient.
