The hinge and key latch are mounted on the frame's sides, as shown in the photos for this panel. The tabs on the top and bottom of the panel I received were attached. In my application, this mounting orientation would be ineffective. Because there were pre-drilled holes in the frame, rotating the door 90 degrees in the frame appeared to be a viable option. drilled holes for the hinge, but there was nowhere for the lock to engage except in the as-is condition. a constructed site I used screws to reinstall the mounting tabs after drilling out the metal that held them in place. I put the tabs where I thought they should go. After that, everything was fine.
We had to return because the thing had to fit between studs, was recessed into the wall, and was not particularly descriptive.
It really works.
This panel was used to repair a hole in my drywall that was created for plumbing access. It works well for that, but because the panel's lip is wider than the thickness of the drywall, I had to cut into the studs to get it to fit properly.
The only drawback is that I didn't want a key and instead wanted something that I could open with a screwdriver or a wand. e However, everything else is ideal.
I'm lying about ceiling repair.
