It's made to fit into a hole in the wall and give you access to something. A water shutoff was the issue in my case.
The model I bought is number 13. The actual wall opening is just under 12 inches in length, including the flange. 5 inches. Cut a 12. It'll fit perfectly and look professional if you make it 5 inches square.
I measured 16 inches by 16 inches after the installation was completed. When handling the unit, keep in mind that the hinges aren't designed to be used indefinitely.
I ordered a 12 x 12 inch print, but it's more like an 11 x 11 inch print. 75 x 11. It's 75mm in diameter, so it'll fit in a 12 x 12 hole without difficulty. Because the flange is about an inch wide, I plan to use a screw in each corner to hold it in place, either through drywall to wood or through anchors in the drywall. I'm thinking of starting with a good quality adhesive caulk; since it's plastic, it might be fine.

Keeping the square in the opening and gluing it in place was difficult. My installation had to be done on the ceiling, which made it even more difficult. If I had it to do over, I would drill a few small holes around the perimeter and countersink some screws to keep it in place. I'd probably still glue it because the frame is flimsy and may sag over time, but it does what it's supposed to do. It's not overly costly, and it's well worth it. Invest in a metal one if you'll be using it frequently. This isn't going to last if you use it on a regular basis.
Well, I forgot to leave the house door open for the shutoff of the outside faucet. I was debating how I'd go about fixing it. I had a general idea of where I was going and figured out how to get there. br>Then I came across this product!br>Using it as a template, I determined the size of the opening, drilled a hole large enough for my hand, located the shutoff, and then prepared a larger opening. br>It is an excellent product.
This panel was purchased to house a slew of speaker wires. The house I bought has a lot of built-in speakers, but they were all rolled up and hung out of the wall when I bought it. I used a small pointed hand saw to cut out the sheetrock. It took me longer to ensure that I cut it level and square than it did to actually cut it. Once, I had a contractor install a panel that was crooked, and it drove me insane! br>br>Anyway, I prefer this to a removable panel door because it is hinged. It appears to be well-made and has a textured surface that can be painted on. It hasn't been painted by me. It's actually quite attractive in its natural state. Although having a template sheet to tape to the wall to mark out my hole would have been helpful, it was actually quite simple to do so without one. Don't forget to use some sort of construction adhesive to adhere it to the wall. I applied some and then taped it down with blue painters tape overnight. br>br>The packaging was excellent. It was just a piece of clear plastic wrap that came off easily.
This item is ideal for gaining access to drywall ceilings or walls. I cut my hole and used some glue to secure my access door; everything fit perfectly and was set after 24 hours. One of the simplest installations, and once everything is dry, the door can be painted to match the surroundings. br>I couldn't find this sized access door in stock at any of my local hardware stores, including Lowes, Ace, and Home Depot, to name a few. All offered to have it shipped to me or the store within 5 business days; fortunately for me, I have Amazon Prime, so I was able to take advantage of this offer. Amazon is proving to have exactly what you are looking for.
To be honest, I'm not sure why there isn't a knob to open this. When I have water spraying all over me as a result of an emergency and I need to rush to my basement to turn off the water main but I can't get in? For me, this is an issue. I purchased this access panel for my water main and had it installed by a handyman, but it doesn't feel like an access panel to me if I can't see what's inside. Oh well. I'll probably just keep it slightly ajar all the time.
For some outdoor electronics, I wanted to add a hidden electrical outlet. a fan, and a set of speakers This was used on the underside of my house's second story, which has a foot or two of overhang. It was simple enough to set up. I can open in the time it takes me to get to the outlet. It meets my requirements perfectly.
It's a great product that's simple to set up. The door is easy to open and close. All that was left to do was drill holes in the four corners and screw in some drywall screws, and it was ready to go.
It was a great success. Perfect! I looked in all of the big box stores for this size but couldn't find it. I needed to cut an access hole for a plumbing repair and didn't want to cut any bigger than I needed to fit ones that were more readily available at the store. This panel was exactly what I was looking for, and it was a perfect fit. It looks nice and it's a good way to keep a spot open in case you need to put in a wall later. I'm confident that the other sizes are identical and of comparable quality. I would strongly suggest it!.
