They appear to be packaged in that, so you might expect to get them in that. There was nothing but the mats in the cellophane bags - no instructions about how to care for or even how to use them! The mats do however seem to be very comfortable to me. Small items do really well when smoked in them. I use them in my pellet smoker with no problems. The containers were easy to clean and my food did not stick to them, which was one of my concerns. Eventually the old ones will wear out, so I plan to buy more. This is one of the best mats you can find for the money.
