Product Description

Designed to prevent sparks and dripping grease from damaging the nearby area of a fire pit or grill, the Ember Mat prevents this damage.

Using a food-grade silicone coating on the Ember Mat ensures that it isn't itchy when touched and that fibers won't enter your food in the event of a hot dog running off of it.

Mat trim includes high-reflective edges which are highly visible after dark - 8 stainless steel grommets on the edges hold the mat in place when it is windy

If you see an ember that has fallen or is burning on the Ember Mat, extinguish it immediately. Using the Ember Mat with fire pits that have fewer than 10-inches of space between the bottom of the pit and the bottom of the mat will not prevent heat transfer to the ground. Whenever you burn grass or heat-sensitive decking, always protect the surface with a heat shield such as pavers.

Burnt to the point of excruciation

Worked for a short time, then stopped working. As indicated, I used a fire pit with a diameter of four inches or higher. There was a burning smell coming from underneath my deck. It has burned my deck after I remove it from the ground. There are a couple of planks I'm going to need to replace now. I was disappointed in this purchase and the false features it offered. DON'T WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY ON IT!.

On the deck, we installed a fire pit. You should also recommend users use pavers if you do this. Unlike fireproof materials, mats are fire resistant rather than fireproof.

Money is a commodity

Don't waste it. This product was just opened and used for the first time as it is bonfire season, and they left burn marks on my deck after a hole burned through it. It would have been possible to get my money back, but I waited too long and missed the return window. There is no way to prevent burning, but it can certainly minimize the effect.

I expected the grass to be burnt but it was burned anyway

When I applied it to a patch of grass I thought it would restrict growth but instead the grass was burned. Well. . . I'm sure it is a flame retardant and does restrict growth, but the heat burned the grass instead, which was fine for me.

I was influenced by photography where this mat is used on a wooden floor when I decided to buy Ember Mat | 67" x 60" | Fire Pit Mat | The Grill Mat. The Ember Mat has only been used on the grass once in the yard. In the attached photos, it is plain to see what happened to the mat and to the grass. believe that using this mat on a floor of wood could even start a fire. Unfortunately, I was not paying attention to one of the reviews of this product, which said "Mat is fire resistant but not fire proof. ". Ember Mat is not something I would recommend buying.

Under a Weber kettle in an area with a lot of wind, we use this. It adds a lot of appeal to the deck as well. This is a beautiful piece with excellent craftsmanship and color.
