Magnesium has a magnetic property that also helps to improve corrosion resistance. The stainless steel is heated to 1800F – 2100F and cooled slowly during the annealing process, which converts martensite to austenite. The corrosion resistance of stainless steel will be reduced if the temperature is not high enough. The fact that this rack is magnetic indicates that it is either not made of 304 or, if it is, that it has not been annealed after being formed into the rack to restore its corrosion resistance (the whole reason you buy stainless steel). This is big enough to hold two 5 pound chickens. It works beautifully in a large disposable pan. The rack meets my expectations. It's incredibly simple to use and maintain.

The rack can easily accommodate two chickens. The beer, on the other hand, did not evaporate and infused the chicken with flavor. It wasn't related to the rack, in my opinion. Next time, I'll try something different.

So, I know it's not cheap, but I like that you get a basting brush with it. I was a little disappointed when I opened it and saw the tiny, fake basting brush.
