There are no flares on mine, which I like. ups - It's less likely that you'll get burned. There is no food that falls through the racks. Nothing sticks to the vegetables I've cooked directly on the mat. I made french toast a few weeks ago, and it was delicious. It's simple to clean up afterward. I'm going to get them for my kids as gifts.
No, both sides are acceptable. Be aware that the product is extremely flimsy, black, and does not resemble the image with the company logo. On the product, there isn't a single company logo.
Yes, absolutely! Thank you for reaching out with your inquiry.
Yes. All grill mats have a temperature limit of 500 degrees Fahrenheit, while Kona's is 600 degrees Fahrenheit. The most important thing is to get a surface thermometer (not the air thermometer on the grill cover) to put on the mat so you can keep an eye on the temperature and make sure it doesn't go above the set temperature. If the temperature rises above the set point, the mat will be burned.

For the first few days, the product did exactly what it was supposed to do - It was simple to clean, and the food was delicious. However, after a few uses, the top layer of the sheet began to separate and became stuck to the chicken or fish I was cooking. The sheet was then torn in half. A complete let down. I also made contact with Kona - There has been no response.
It completely covers the surface of my gas grill. It heats evenly and cleans up quickly after use. Avoid looking at the thermometer on the grill lid when using the mat. Because so much heat will be trapped beneath the mat, it will be off by a few hundred degrees. Invest in an infrared digital thermometer that measures the surface temperature of the object you're measuring. The surface temperature of the mat was 455, while my grill thermometer read 295 degrees. Reduce the settings to medium once the mat has reached the desired temperature. It will stay hot for longer, and you will save money on propane.
The infra-red technology piqued my interest. I'm a big fan of red grills and just bought a used one. It cooks like a dream, but it's a pain to clean up after. It's a HUGE PITA to get up. So much so that I no longer grill as frequently as I used to. I was considering purchasing iron skillets, griddles, and other similar items until I came across this product. br>br>I used it for the first time with lean burgers last night. It fulfills all of its promises! There will be no adhesion. Heat transfer and clean-up are not a problem. It's very simple to set up. The photos show how the small amount of grease that drains is crisped up and scraped off. After that, just wash in soapy water and you're good to go. There was no dripping at all on the grill grates. br>br>If you're debating whether or not to buy it, don't! You will not be disappointed.
Anything cooked on the grill with this Copper Grill Mat would be the same as cooking without it, leaving grill marks, etc. , according to your description. I grilled hamburgers on my grill the first night I got the Mat. The Hamburgers were the worst piece of meat I've ever grilled, and I washed the Mat according to the directions. I cut it to fit my grill, so there are no grill marks. If you would accept it as is, I will send it back in a heartbeat.
I'm still surprised I was able to cook burger patties and fry bacon on this thing. My only criticism is that the surface appears to have been roughened up with plastic-tipped tongs or wooden utensils. If you're going to use metal tools, be cautious.
So far, everything has gone well. Nothing melted, exploded, disintegrated, changed colors, or poisoned anyone. I used a little dish soap to clean it up, a little spray oil to make it feel more secure, then turned up the heat and fried that chicken. It worked in a way that they predicted. I'll revisit it after a few hundred grills have passed, but for now, it's doing its job.
It's truly incredible. Probably the best grilling accessory I've bought in a long time. On a 4-person team, I'm using it. CharBroil is a charcoal grill. I made diced potatoes with corn and pork chops for dinner. All of the flavors blended together, and the butter remained intact. I set each burner to medium, and despite the excellent warranty, I don't think I'll go any higher. Following that, I'll grill cheese steaks or kabobs. Congratulations on a great product; I'm very happy with it.
I'm going to leave my original review here, but I'd like to make some changes. br>When I informed the company of the situation, they were extremely sorry and promptly sent out a replacement mat. br>The customer service representative explained the situation. The mat basically disintegrated due to the extreme heat. br>With the Mat on the grill, the grill heats up QUICKLY and is much hotter than it would be with just the grill grates. My grill's lowest setting keeps the mat's surface temperature between 475 and 500 degrees Fahrenheit. At all times, 500. br>The replacement mat has performed admirably and is simple to clean in the sink. br>br>****** Original review*****
Stay away!br>br>Just be careful how much heat you put in the grill, and the Mat will last a long time. br>br>****** Original review*****
Stay away! It only lasted one barbeque before it disintegrated!! What a piece of scum. br> I was excited when I bought it. I grilled wings yesterday, and when I tried to clean them up today, they had completely disintegrated. Rips, tears, and shards of glass are strewn about. br>Stay away from me.
