Yes, there have been broken stones; however, I believe we have had far fewer broken stones than other companies. They're tossed around like frisbees by the shipping crews on occasion. The difference is that, as a small business owner, I take care of my customers and am always available by phone or email. I send a new stone to any customer who has a problem, no questions asked. If you read the reviews, you'll notice that I take care of my customers, and while this comes at a cost to my company, it has resulted in a lot of goodwill. I frequently shop online, and I've discovered that few businesses will pick up the phone or respond to an email. I am the owner, and I answer the phone and respond to emails. I treat others in the same way that I want to be treated. I'm proud of my customer service, and I tell my five daughters all the time that if they ever want to run their own business, they must treat customers with respect and honesty. Isn't that, after all, the point of life?
A 31-page recipe Ebook will be emailed to you by CastElegance. The recipes are simple to follow and tasty. Carefully read the section on how to use and care for your product. It's crucial to remember that a WET or COLD stone will not work! If the stone is wet, dry it in the oven for 60 minutes at 450 degrees Fahrenheit before using it. Always preheat the stone for at least 30 minutes before using it to cook food. Do not use soap or chemicals to clean the stone, and do not put it in the dishwasher. If you follow these simple steps, you should be able to achieve excellent results.
This pizza stone is made from a high-quality proprietary mineral blend, with cordierite being the main component. Cordierite is a magnesium iron aluminum cyclosilicate that occurs naturally in peltic rock formations. It can also be found in a variety of geological formations, such as granite magmas. After we get the geology out of the way, we use it in our product because of its superior durability in high-heat applications like kilns and, of course, pizza stones. The USDA, EU, ROHS testing, and German LFGB testing have all certified it to be safe for use. This was chosen as our product by Cast Elegance because it is extremely durable and will not break like the previous three stones I purchased. As the owner, I use it at home to make pizza and bread for my kids to eat - It has to be tough and safe, or I'm not going to use it!
I'm still working on mastering the "peel." On a 16" round "grill mat," I stretch the dough and build it. Then, for added stability, I place a pizza screen underneath it. To get the pizza on the mat, I grab a pair of thongs in my right hand and grasp the gold grill mat with my left, then slide the pizza screen further over the stone with my left, making sure the mat is on the stone. I cook for 3 minutes, then remove the gold mat with the same long thongs and cook for another 4 minutes directly on the stone. My 530°F convection bake works well, and I've discovered that placing my pizza stone 4" from the broiler top (which I don't use) helps it work better. I pull the pizza directly onto the pizza screen with the thongs once it's done cooking. Allow to cool for 1 minute. After 5 minutes on the screen (to allow steam to escape the bottom area and keep the crust crisp), transfer to a metal pizza pan, which retains heat better than a cutting board.

This pizza stone has been in my possession for almost a year. Before writing a review, I wanted to make sure I had actually used it. I bought it at the same time as a new gas grill, intending to use it primarily for that purpose. While the pizza stone is great, my grill isn't quite up to par, so I've been relying on my electric oven almost exclusively. br>br>I've experimented with a variety of crusts, including: pre- flat breads, refrigerated dough, frozen dough, homemade dough, parmesan cheese, parmesan cheese parmesan cheese parmesan cheese parmesan cheese parmesan cheese parmesan cheese parmes I could go on and on about baked frozen crusts. This stone has performed admirably in all circumstances. (Because I'm not a professional dough maker, I've had some issues when the humidity is high, as shown in one photo. ) )br>br>I discovered that preheating my oven to 550 degrees F for 30 minutes results in an instant crisp as soon as the raw dough touches the stone. I like my crust to have a nice crisp base, and this stone provides that. I'm not a great cook, but this stone makes me feel like one most of the time (except when I screw up my crust. ) I see there's now a 14 x 16 rectangular version as well. I think I'll have to get one of those just in case I drop this one. br>br>One final point. About 20 years ago, I had a stone that emitted a foul odor that I assumed would go away with time. It didn't work out, and I had to toss that stone. I was apprehensive about purchasing another stone and having to deal with odors once more. There was no odor from this one. In fact, it was only as I was writing this review that I realized it. br>br>This pizza stone comes highly recommended.
It is not something I would suggest. It broke in half the first time I used it. It's quite thin and doesn't appear to be very long-lasting. I contacted the seller and explained what had happened, and they promised to send me a replacement, so I sent them my information. After a few weeks, I contacted them again to inquire about the replacement's status, but I never received a response. This is a product that I would not recommend.
I've been making pizzas on pizza stones for over 30 years, and I recently wanted to make them on the grill, but my old pizza stones couldn't handle direct heat. I bought it because of the positive reviews and data indicating that the stone could be used over direct heat on the BBQ, and I am very happy with it. The crust was the crispiest I've ever made with the same recipe, proving that the stone DOES matter. I'm not going to make pizza for a while because I made four pizzas today, two of which will be frozen. It's all in the picture! Yum yum. grilled vegetables on a white pizza.
"Take it to the next level!" The CastElegance Pizza Stone was a huge hit with us, and we used it right away! br>Here's how it all started: "You will love this particular pizza, but you MUST bake it on a pizza stone," said another customer I'd never met as I was looking through the frozen pizzas at Costco. Cast Elegance on Amazon was where I got mine. You'll love it so much that you won't want to eat pizza anywhere else. " We decided to give a pizza stone a try despite the fact that we had never used one before. br>It was delicious pizza; That other customer may be correct in his assessment that we should not go out when we want a good pizza. . . . We're excited to try the recipes that CastElegance included with the stone when it was delivered.
I've never used one before, so I can't comment on how it compares to others, but it produces a crisp, evenly-cooked result. I was hesitant to spend $40 on a single-purpose baking pan, but the crusts of the pizzas I'd baked on our old pizza pan were always a little soggy. The difference between how the crust appears on this stone and how it appears on other stones is remarkable. The stone seller has been extremely accommodating. The stone itself was packaged in a box with protective padding, which was then packed inside a slightly larger box. A scraper for cleaning the stone was also included, as well as clear care and use instructions. The seller also included a cookbook with several pizza recipes, a bread recipe, and instructions for baking frozen pizza in an email with care instructions. I've made a couple of pizzas from the ground up - Using a bread machine to make the dough, then adding the toppings I make the pizza on parchment paper, which makes cleanup a breeze. It also makes it a lot easier to transfer the pizza to the stone. I grab a corner of the parchment paper and slide it onto an old pizza pan, then onto the stone. Voila! The only drawback is that takeout pizza will never be enough for us.
Edit: After only one use, our stone was infested with fungus and mold. We cleaned it thoroughly and dried it completely in the sun, but when we removed it three months later, it was covered in green mold and fungal growth. br>I contacted the company, and all they recommended was soaking the stone in water for a few hours and scraping the mold off. How am I going to make food on that thing now that it's porous and has fungal growth on it? We threw it out and promised ourselves that we would never buy another stone. br>br>We've only had it for a few months, and the first time we used it, it became stained and took an eternity to clean. We didn't follow the manufacturer's instructions and didn't use soap or water. br>The pizza came out nice and crisp, and the stone did assist in speeding up the cooking of the dough. The flavor was fantastic, and we are pleased with our purchase overall. I'm only giving it one star because it's difficult to clean and the blue scraper that came with it left blue marks on the stone and leaked color.
In a literal sense! I was hoping to like this stone a lot more than I did. It was purchased to replace a Pampered Chef stone that had fallen off my counter after 20 years and had broken. When I bought this, I compared it to a Pampered Chef stone of similar size and price, and I ultimately chose this one because it was easier to find on Amazon. It was a blunder on my part. This stone is big and heavy, but the worst part is the stench that won't go away. It still stinks after 4 months, baking with it, and cleaning it according to the instructions, allowing it to completely dry in between uses. My entire house smells like burning plastic mixed with some sort of chemical when I use it to bake. It's one of my least favorite words. Make sure you don't make the same mistake I did. Purchase a different product.
