Can you tell me how wide the rack head is?

There is a 4" wide gap between them.

If the handle gets too warm, can it be used barehanded?

As the rake gets too hot for use with bare hands, the coal beds will be too hot for barehanded use before the rake gets too hot. For me, wearing pit mitts is never a problem, but I do pour and rake Lit charcoal with them anyway.

It would have been better if I had bought one A tool like this is required if you grill with charcoal or wood regularly
5/5

This can be described as something you have always wanted, but did not think to get. Since I was growing up I've been grilling with some sort of charcoal grill at home and in parks, and like an idiot I always stir the hot coals with my tongs and then clean them with paper towels. As I have never seen this tool in a store, I didn't think to add it to my mental wish list. The device has become indispensable to me since I bought it! There is only one piece of steel and it is solidly constructed. You should be able to use this tool for a lifetime.

Excellent grill tool that can't be lived without
5/5

In Texas, grilling season lasts for a long time. There is one grill in our house There is nothing I can't handle. I go to the gym 3 times a week. In the past, I have used regular grill tongs to move the hot coals as desired after they have been emptied out of the charcoal chimney. It would get too hot for me sometimes even when I had a mitt on, so I'd have to take another pass or two to get the coals in place. My coals don't burn as hot as they used to, so I'm able to move them around the way I want with the rake. The coals never have to be rearranged more than once for me to get them the way The zamboni refreshes the ice after which it's like ice skating afterward, if I may use a metaphor that makes no sense to me It seems to be working. Let me try it Are you aware that some situations require the use of special tools that only have one function and that they are the only tools necessary to make a difficult task possible? It is one of those tools, this charcoal rake! My purchase of one was the first time I realized I needed one. If I didn't have one, I could not grill. Your first thought might be, "I don't need to spend $15 on this. ". Even though I realize that, this rake is made from strong steel and will last a long time. I can't imagine I won't be using it 30 years in the future.

The end result is almost perfect
4/5

This product seems very solid and should perform exactly as it is supposed to. A small complaint about this bag is that the bottom of the handle has an open seam. Because it is so sharp, if you aren't careful, you could easily cut yourself. It's definitely a good idea to wear gloves while In my opinion, I'm going to smooth the edges out with my Dremel so it can be used safely. In actuality, I rate 4 out of 5. The only complaint I have has to do with a very minor aspect of an otherwise fantastic.

When grilling with charcoal, a charcoal starter kit is essential
4/5

As a gift, my wife gave me an Akorn egg smoker. It has become easier for me over the past several months. It's all about the accessories in this hobby, as it is in most men's hobbies! The grill hook, meat thermometer, wire brush, and cooking stone I bought are all useful items. It seemed like I had it figured out. It became necessary for me to move the coals within the grill as I reached down. When I used my spatula, it would get charcoal all over it because it was too short. My search on the internet led me to this page. Weber has a reputation for quality, so I expected it to be good. To make sure it would do the job, I wanted to verify that the blade was long enough and had the correct angle. It's perfect for what you are looking for! My head can fit inside the grill head when I take out the center circle. I can move the coals anywhere inside. There might have been an advantage to a silicone grip around the handle, but you don't use it that much, so it isn't Initially, I had to remove it from the boxes and file down its edges in the garage. No final polishing step seems to have been done on this. This is what takes off those sharp steel edges formed when metal is stamped. However, after filing it, and lightly sanding it with 220 (just along the edges) it felt good in my hand. Therefore, the one star is taken off, but all in all I think this will make a great addition to a Pit Master's toolbox!.

Rake for charcoal that is good
5/5

A charcoal rake was made from an old ash shovel in my 18 year old apartment. We had a 5 Weber for quite some time and for some reason lost it. We decided to purchase this one instead. After I received this one, I immediately found my ash shovel, however, so I tried this one out too. There is no doubt that this construction is durable, yet simple. This shovel gives me a little more control with charcoal because it is narrower and has a different angle to it compared to the shovel. The only thing I don't like about your product is that. . . This is something that might not be obvious to most people. There are a few conveniences I would like but the cast iron grate on my Weber is a bit awkward. It is different from the standard Weber grates, which you have to remove, or the hinged grates which open completely so that you can add coals and adjust them. This cast iron grate has three separate grate parts that can be removed. Due to the angle of the handle on the rake, I sometimes need to raise my food in order to get the coals where I find them. So sometimes I have to remove two grates (one at a time) in order to get the coals where Having to use an ash shovel is no problem for me as I've done it with an old shovel before. Depending on who you are, this may be a little frustrating for you. In the case of a Weber grate, or a hinged grate, I think this will work perfectly for you, as long as you rake the coals to make sure they stay lit evenly. For now, it seems to be working well.

That's the best I could do with it
5/5

A coal rake like this is used for digging coal out of the ground. It can spread and gather hot coals and is designed to push, pull, spread, and gather It is relatively short, at about 21 inches, and the diameter is about 10 millimeters I found it to be the optimal length for use on pretty much any grill, unless it's an extremely custom-built beast. Its stainless steel head is large enough to be efficient, but small enough to be portable. The handle is hollow to reduce heat buildup on the shaft. The head is a single piece, so it can be stored and transported easily. The handle can easily be wrapped (even with just duct tape) if you find heat build up to be a problem The only problem would be if it was troublesome to you. It is likely you left it sitting in a hot coals after using it for this In view of the fact that the price will be a one-time charge, this is exceedingly reasonable A one-time purchase, the price is very reasonable, and the quality of the product is very superior. You should definitely purchase this product if you are the owner of In addition to using it to push the coals around in a small fire pit or wood stove, it could also come in handy if you own one of these. Besides being useful as a back scratcher, it also makes for a very good nose hair remover. I ask you not to judge me.

If you grill or barbecue with charcoal, this is a great tool that you'll never regret buying
5/5

If you put off getting one of these until you need it to get one, then you will be extremely happy For a number of years, I steered clear of these types of products and kept using grill tongs to manage coals. When you use the rake you can move and mix the coals around more easily, and that not only saves you time but also creates that two-dimensional effect. The three-zone system or three-zone system Setting up a zone. The product is excellent.
