Questions & Answers

The product description reads as follows "built-in.". The emitters have an output of 8 gallons per hour and are evenly spaced 6" apart. Do you really think it is. It is a little more than eight gallons per hour. Is it really 8 gallons per minute?

0 is the answer. I have a steady drip of about 8 mm per second. Assuming that it is connected in a way that it has that much input, that is of course necessary

Can you tell me if this tubing is 100 feet long or 50 feet long? In the description, it doesn't mention anything about it. ?

The width of fifty

My planter is a 3 x 8 raised bed (Phoenix). Would you suggest connecting the drip line to one of my existing drip lines? (a plan is to run 2 drip tubes through the bed using a T-joint)?

Set a 25 PSI faucet, run a garden hose to its end, attach a metal 4 way hose to it, install four 50 foot 1/4" driplines (one for each row of veggies. Plant in the garden) with garden hose from 4 way to 1/4" line use all 4 drip lines together. You can put a T in your line if it doesn't

Is this a good choice for subsurface drips?

My mower is under mulch and I have no problems. It should work well if the dirt is reasonably porous.

Selected User Reviews For Rain Bird ET256-50S Drip Irrigation Pressure Compensating 1/4" Tubing, 6" Emitter Spacing, Brown

I have bought this and a leading brand and I can say it is just as good and offers more for the same price
5/5

Since I set it up on top of the dirt (not buried), dirt often covers it but it still doesn't clog and provides a nice drip at all times. It is essential that you space emitters 6" apart if you are growing vegetables or in an area where your plants are close to one another. As a result, you can stake down the emitters exactly where needed. This emitter hose produces steady pressure throughout the garden, unlike soaker hose, which loses most of its pressure within a few feet of the supply line. In the beginning, I placed a larger 1/2" distribution hose and then connected it to my 1/4" line about every 18". (This corresponds to the approximate spacing of my garden rows. ) The emitter hose in my garden goes through each row of plants, and I sew it throughout and stake it down to direct water into just these areas.

For vegetable gardens, this product is great
4/5

We purchased these drip tubes for a raised garden project. There is one drip hole per inch of diameter, which means each drip hole distributes water in about a six-inch I can place it right next to my rows of hopeful produce since they are spaced about 6 inches apart. I can effectively cover my whole row with that. My garden bed is 4ft wide and I have placed four rows in it. The tubes are 6in apart on each side, in contrast to the other tubes, which are 12in apart. The hose fittings are connected to a manifold over 1/2 inch distribution tubing that is connected to my hose timer. My daughter is going to love these - I am definitely buying them again. The brown color of all mine (not the black as advertised) was actually present throughout.

My vegetable garden gets a lot of attention thanks to this
5/5

A total length of 50 feet is provided for this 1/4 in tube. The emitters in the garden beds are every six inches, which makes them the perfect choice It may not always be perfect because this year I installed the emitter tubing only after planting my vegetables however, next year I will make sure to plant vegetables near each emitter hole to get the It has been less than a week since I installed it, and already I As a result, the water was sprayed to a lot of places within and around my raised beds and also on the leaves, resulting in their being sunburnt. I have since replaced those shrub sprinkler heads with drip irrigation heads. Because of its shape, this emitter tubing would deliver water to each plant as close to the bottom as possible without damaging it. There is enough tubing to cover my two 4' x 4' beds and five 20 gal fabric bins in this 50' length. I was able to use it for the exact amount needed for those, so it served the purpose I had in mind. I disliked that it was difficult to attach the barb connectors to the cable using only my It is definitely recommended that you use a tool for the connector installation. In addition, it is very time-saving and saves a lot of water.

Hoses 6" in diameter for drip irrigation
5/5

Watering is one of the worst parts of gardening for me. During the past year, I have bought a different rain bird kit with 1/2" piping and emitters every 18" in space. Generally, this works great for growing most plants, but a few rows of plants (green beans in my case) were spaced close together. With barbs attached to the 1/4" pipe, it can easily join my 1/2" pipe. This pipe consistently emits water from each of its emitters when the water is turned on. Gardeners can use this pipe to water your garden uniformly and is easy to install.

Irrigation with drip lines produces a consistent output
5/5

The product does exactly what it was described to do. My only complaint is that the tubing is stiff and you have to be careful when you bend the line not to kink it. I have replaced all drip and spray emitters and soaker hoses on my set up of four automated watering zones with this tubing. The typical output of this tubing is not uniform, where the tubing otherwise has a pretty constant output. The planter boxes I have used it for now are raised beds, planter boxes, and hanging baskets (strawberry tubes) in vertical gardening.

I am happy with the product, but I paid big bucks for it
5/5

The cost is $50 per foot. The product was perfect for what I needed, but I just bought it at the wrong time and it was expensive, otherwise everything was just as it was described- The amount of flower beds I have bought since have increased, and I would probably buy more again if my wife wants to have more.

The price is way too high
3/5

If you are not strong enough, it is difficult to press these onto fittings. Despite not knowing what "stretch" is, these coils were so stiff and tightly wound that laying them out was difficult. To get them to go in the direction you desire, you will have to stake them frequently.

It's really hard to attach fittings to a tube
3/5

As I perused the reviews of this tubing before purchasing it and in the process of writing it, I am astonished that this is not a more common issue. In the past, I purchased tubing that had a 6-inch emitter spacing and the installation was easy. It is next to impossible to work with this tubing. It will be impossible to insert the fittings into the tubing. The previous irrigation could be installed on my own in just a few hours, but some modifications had to be made. In order to install the fittings on this tubing, my husband had to use a heat torch and it took him 10 minutes or more You need to get.
