We discarded 2 plants that still had some life in them and replanted them, but we could not find the 3rd. There was a plant inside the box with venting on the side. Wrapped in soft plastic, it had a round shape. Inside the plant was a piece of paper. It took me on Saturday evening to place an order and on Tuesday I received it. In spite of the dead or dying leaves, the plant still has leaves. There are many cut tops of the plant which have dried into thin sticks. Despite the semi-dry conditions, the soil was moist.
It almost looks like this plant was sitting on the edge of a nursery, ready to go to the compost heap or for The one I would have found in a store would not be close to being thrown out because it was in good condition. The box seems to be 7/8ths dead.

Upon arrival of the elderberry plant (bigger darker one), the package arrived very quickly. I was very pleased with how well packaged the plant was, in a large box, and how the soil was moist and secure. It was only a small piece of the brach that was broken, but it was not a huge problem. To see if there is any chance of getting berries this summer or next year, I planted it next to another smaller Elderberry plant I purchased. Their transplants took off very quickly, and they have been doing very well since then. As soon as they begin bearing fruit, I will be thrilled. As soon as the new pictures are ready, I will send them.
