A gravel base will help, but it's the layer of gravel on top that will keep the pavers in place.
Without a doubt. TRUEGRID is designed for motorhomes with a gross weight of more than 5,000 pounds. Even fire engines can use it because it is H20 and HS20 rated. If you have ground that will become soft after a rain, you may need to include a base before laying the TRUEGRID, depending on your soil conditions. My task was to level out the grade in a basement with a dirt floor and then lay down a surface that would help keep the dust down while also allowing true air flow porosity for moisture management without the risk of mold. My basement was roughly 200 square feet in size. Some of the picking was done by a low-wage manual laborer. To level out the dirt and clear larger rocks, use a shovel and rake. We used a 2x4 to do a rough screeding, then laid down the grid and poured the pebbles on top. The entire project was completed in one day. This is a fantastic product that aids in the creation of a perfectly level surface where the gravel does not get pushed out as you walk or roll over it. This would be ideal for a patio, walkway, boat storage, and other similar purposes. br>- The gravel will fall through and fill gaps beneath the grid, so you don't need a perfectly level underlayment. br>- I went with a 3/8"-thickness plywood. 1/2-inch pebbles of salt and pepper Bulk delivery from a local stone supplier was extremely affordable and effective. I'd like to use approximately 1. 2 cubic feet of gravel per ten square feet of ground areabr>- Cutting the grids to fit is best done with a circular saw and a rough cut wood blade, or with an angle grinder and a segmented blade. The plastic gets stuck in the fine tooth blades. As a result of the cutting, there will be some plastic fragments.
- My total cost was around $4 per square foot installed and completed in one day, compared to about $10 per square foot for wood decking or $12 per square foot for traditional pavers (which require perfectly level underlayment).
I recently purchased a travel trailer that necessitates backing up onto my boulevard in order to park. I needed something solid that wouldn't move and didn't need to be maintained on a regular basis. The following are the steps I took. br>br>1) Dig down at least 4 inches below grade to remove sod and top soil. 6th suggestion If the soil is soft, increase the depth to 8 inches. Because I have hard clay, I'm going to go with the number four. For me, 5 inches was sufficient. 2) Weft geotextile fabric was laid down. I didn't want to use a standard landscape fabric because it would be ruined in a year by being driven over. The material used to stabilize the soil beneath roads is known as geotextile fabric. Because I live in a hard clay area, soil stability was not an issue for me, but I still used it for weed control. br>br>3) 1 inch crushed rock was laid down with 1 inch left over. The tiles will be 25 inches below grade. This step should not be done with washed rock or pebbles because washed rock has rounded edges and does not pack/lock together as well as crushed rock. I didn't want to rent a plate compactor, so I used a manual tamper that I already had (I would have definitely rented the plate compactor if I had a larger area). A nice level was created as a result of this. The tiles will be laid on a soild surface. 4) Placed the tiles on the floor. I decided to cut my tiles while they were still in place. I used an oscillating multi-frequency oscillator to lock them together. To cut them, I used a tool that was both effective and simple. br>br>5) Finally, I used crushed rock that was 5/8 inch thick (1/2 - Overlay 5/8-inch pieces) on top of the tiles. I tapped the rocks into the tiles with my tamper once more to secure them. br>br>Drove my camper and picked up the finished product, and there was no way to tell my boulevard had been driven on afterwards. I was blown away by how well these worked, and I would strongly recommend them if properly installed.
From the backyard to the patio, my four large dogs created a muddy path. These grids were put in place and filled with pea gravel. (. . . I'm on my own. . . 66-) year- (old woman) It rained for days after that, but no mud appeared! I like how they keep the mud out, and I'm thinking about getting some more for other mud spots.
I'll give you a rundown of the various possibilities. I'm overjoyed to the point of tears. These grids solved all of my problems and were even better than I had hoped for! Problems. br>br> A 74-year-old woman is required to install it. There is no driveway. Parking is available on the street. From the street, the house is set back. Stairs. There isn't a dependable gardener on hand to assist. To avoid run-off, the material must be permeable. off. Heavy trash cans, rain, snow, and heat must all be dealt with. It is not possible to harm the environment. br>br>Solution: br>br> The box is delivered to my front porch. There is no need for a hefty gravel and sand base. Grids that click together are lightweight and easy to use. It was simple to complete at my leisure. The finished path is very attractive. br>br>Everyone who sees my path is enamored with it! I ordered a second box to create a small patio, which I plan to fill with hardy ground covers and succulents once more. This product has exceeded my expectations!! br>br>My only suggestion is that some of the pieces be curved. Plantings are softening the edges, but a curve here and there would be nice.
We placed it in her pen and allowed the grass to grow through it. She can only dig a 2"x2" hole at a time. It was a huge success!.
I scraped back the gravel, laid down the grid, anchored it with small steel garden stakes, and covered it with the same gravel to keep your feet from sliding back every time you take a step in the gravel. It was an excellent solution. It now feels like you're walking up a solid surface as you climb the hill. br>br>I thought the grid pieces' quality control was very good. I purchased one box containing 18 grids, then purchased additional boxes as the job progressed, and was pleased with the results; I purchased a total of 8 boxes, and each grid was well formed and snapped/unsnapped easily to the adjacent grid to form a solid sub structure. This is a product that I wholeheartedly endorse.
We were able to get a permit from the city to build a parking pad in the back of our house after presenting them with information about these pavers. I ordered three boxes, hired a contractor, and it all came together perfectly! Ours is layered with gravel and topped with a decorative stone, and it's very sturdy and environmentally friendly. It's fantastic, and I'd buy it again!.
This product is extremely simple to set up. I put it next to my driveway to create some extra space, and it's great; it's very sturdy. The car tire can be seen sitting on top of the pea gravel and not sinking at all because the grid underneath keeps the pea gravel from moving. I just placed an order for more for another area because it works so well!.
