The steering seems very good to me. You can easily push or pull the handle, which is fixed, like a shopping cart. The wheels swivel, like with a shopping cart. Although it is large, it can be difficult to navigate through tight spots, but I have yet to find a wagon that can do so.

My dog used to get tired a lot, so I wanted a carriage so I could walk with her. The heat makes it impossible to leave her in the car, and walking for more than 10 minutes is not in my capabilities now. Our main purpose for buying this wagon was to lug gear around for Mardi Gras parades, and it serves us well for that purpose. Folding and opening the bag is easy and fast. Some of you may say you can just use a chuck, but you have to keep those on hand, or that you improvise, which is what we ultimately did. So, in future, this shouldn't be a problem, I plan to buy some chucks and keep them in the wagon.
I had to pull my husband as the wheels sank in the sand, would not recommend for the beach unless you want to be near a lake or river but not near the ocean, it was too heavy to transport groceries to the front door, or to an event, etc. Although it works great for outdoor festivals with my grandchildren, I am not sure if the stitching on the side that holds the canvas on the frame is fully intact. I only use it 3 times so far but it is in my trunk all the time.

It comes in a box, so I was curious how easy it would be to assemble. I found it to be very easy since all you need to do is fold While I filled up the wagon with stuff, my 5 year old son asked, "Can I get in?"? That's fine with me. His love for it was as great as mine. A 5 year old can easily pull it through grass packed with stuff even when it is fully loaded. In addition, there is a small table on the end which is not to be confused with a seat but it does look very cool. I think this is one of my favorite purchases.
