This kit comes with a size 5 as far as I can tell
It consists of 6" and 6" Plastic orchid pots are available in 8" sizes. As well as the glazed ceramic pots, you will find other sizes that are larger than 10". It's important to remember that it's all about airflow and drainage and that any plastic pot you put in a decorative pot needs to fit inside the pot completely, leaving space around it so the roots don't become suffocated.
As long as the mixture is kept dry, it will last for an indefinite period of time. When you water a plant in it and you get water back, the mixture ultimately breaks down and needs to be replaced, but my plant has been in it over a year and the mixture is still soaking up and giving the plant water back.

Earlier today I received this item in the mail. Years ago I bought/received 2 orchids that are still going strong. It is evident that they were originally blooming, but they were never able to bloom In recent years, I've found some useful tips for taking good care of orchids online. In addition to general care, I never had any luck finding good information. After looking pathetic last year, they stopped blooming, on top of just not looking good. My plan was to repot them, so I went to Lowe's to buy In my ignorance, I searched for general purpose media I did not know which type of orchids I had. The only thing I saw was bark, so I figured maybe that was why my dogs weren't doing well. They also had orchid fertilizer there, which I bought as well. During the time between returning them to their original pots months ago and about a week ago, the plants looked horrible (as seen in the first picture above). Finally, I decided I would do research further when I found the RePotMe website. I identified the orchids I believe I have (phalaenopsis) and found some suggestions on their site. I realized the bark media was terrible for phalaenopsis orchids. My decision was to buy the starter kit (from Amazon rather than their website given that it is cheaper everywhere else if you are a prime member) and I As I just repotted them, I took some pictures so I might be able to answer a couple of questions I had about this product before I bought My main concern was that I am a bad visualizer, so I didn't even have a clue how big the two pots were, or even if the provided bag of media would be enough for two Therefore, the second and third pictures are intended to convey that message. In the third picture, I placed my hand so that you could see how big the pots are, and I showed you the bag so you could see that there are still plenty of ingredients left. After reading through their website and instructions, I decided that even if my orchids do die, I believe I will feel more confident that I can keep a new orchid alive because I will have more information about the soil and fertilizer. With the kit, in addition to the supplies themselves, it also came with detailed instructions on how to fertilize, such as calculating how much fertilizer to use in spring and summer, and how much fertilizer to use in fall. You should not fertilize one to two weeks ahead of the fall/winter, and every fourth week should be spent watering well to "rinse" the roots from the salts left As for the media itself, I hope you will be satisfied. This is an incredibly beautiful and soft tree. However, I saw less bark compared to the bark on the tree. At least I hope that's how my orchids feel. Since I bought them by such a different medium, I can't even remember what type of media they came This was a combination of the Lowe's bark media and Lowe's bark media they hated. Some kind of ball of natural material was "broken" up into the moss by little pieces of bark. It's been a couple months since I got this kit, and I've already replanted three of my The five plants that I replanted are all thriving with the Feed Me fertilizer, and the three that I repotted have grown amazingly. It looks like my roots are flourishing and multiplying like crazy, and each plant has at least two new leaves (I know at least one has three). However, I think the best part is that two of my plants have new spikes, one of which hasn't even finished blooming from the spike it had at the time A few years ago, I killed an orchid after a few months, but after using this kit and watching the great blogs and videos on rePotme, I am confident these five will live for several years.

Following the very clear and easy to follow directions, I knew I would have a homegrown I'm so excited to hear this. I've never been able to rebloom my plants. The extra stuff that you gave me was well worth the money. I was able to repot some plants a few more times and fertilize the plants.
There was a void in the middle of the roots caused by the roots circling the outside of the old pot, making it difficult to pack in moss- It's hard for me to tell how much got inside. It may have taken a little watering and fertilizing for the grass to settle down. The best I can hope for is yes. How I fared in the end will be revealed in time! Aside from being moist, the product possessed a variety of media, seemed of very good quality, and was very well packaged. The instructions were okay for a first timer, not great, but at least it wasn't a disaster. As much as I want this orchid to survive and thrive, I'm afraid it won't. I bought it with my late husband the year he passed away, so it holds a lot of sentimental value for.

As I only fertilize once a month, I am not even 1/4 of the way through my first gallon of fertilizer after 4 months. I don't know whether they came from Amazon or RePotMe directly, but the small bag of medium that I received looked really dry. When I spritzed it with water, the soil moistened quickly, but I was disappointed that it wasn't exactly as described by others on the RePotMe site. Also, the soil contained more moss than any other element - this disappointed me. The fact that all the heavy stuff sank to the bottom could be due to the drying process. It sounds like bark chips I'd like, but I may order from the website since I don't know how fresh these chips are or how long they have been sitting around for. It would be very upsetting for me if my orchid died. Despite having the pot and the clips, I haven't used the fertilizer yet because I am not exactly sure when to use it since it is winter, but, do you think you shouldn't fertilize as much in the winter?.
My favorite thing about the kit was the instructions provided, the fertilizer, and the accessories. The mix could have contained a bit less sphagnum moss and a bit more general foliage. We'll be able to hold onto a lot of moisture with this. To ensure the roots would not sit in any water, I used some of this with some orchid bark mixed in. In the original planting, it was in sphagnum moss and I didn't find it to be a suitable mixture. Even when I watered it when I thought the turf was dry, the turf was so wet. There was still a lot of moisture in the inner core. There definitely needs to be something else added to.
This kit is a good starter. It is easy to follow the videos on repotme and the instructions are well written. A majority of my orchids were dead, orphaned "Just add Ice" plants, most of which were inherited from multiple people who could no longer care for them. Everyone is now in full bloom after they have recovered from illness.
