I have an old lawn that is in pretty bad shape, as well as an area where I am putting in a new lawn, and I couldn't be happier with the product and service. I went ahead and purchased two kits, one for each area. Prior to purchasing the product on Amazon, I called the My Soil company at the number provided by Amazon. I spoke with Chris at My Soil, who was very knowledgeable about what set their product apart from others I had looked at. He also gave me advice on how to prepare the test kit sample and ship it back, as well as what I should expect from them once the results were received. The entire procedure could not have been more straightforward! From the time I ordered the kits on Amazon to the time I received the results from My Soil, it took a total of ten days. The results are simple to understand, and they include suggestions for the type of fertilizer I'll need to get the soil in the right balance for the lawn I intend to plant. I'm glad I took advantage of their testing kit. I would strongly suggest it.

We had two very successful years in the garden, and then last year we started having a lot more problems with pests and other issues, so I decided to do a full soil analysis because I was pretty sure something was wrong. It was very easy to operate - My 11-year-old gathered the sample, which we then mailed in. Despite top-coating our soil with compost every year, the analysis revealed that we had depleted almost all of the nitrogen in our soil. I now know how to use a 12-point scale. I didn't have to use any fertilizer, and it even told me how much to spread. It's incredibly simple to use - I am overjoyed. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat, and I'll most likely re-evaluate it next year.

You do not need to fill out a card; simply collect samples, mix the dirt, measure it in a cup, and place it in the sample container before mailing it. br>Their website is functional, and they respond quickly. br>br>Compare this to a competitor:
- You must complete a card, remove a barcode from the sample container, attach it to a card you keep, and remember to place their card into the envelope in which you had to hand write your contact information.

I took four samples, ranging in depth from four to six inches. A stainless steel trowel was used to mix them together in a stainless steel bowl. I sent a portion of this to each of the two soil testing firms. Results? Both companies reported the same low pH. br>br> Katie was the one to close the door after that. When it came to measuring each of the nine micronutrients, they were wildly different. For example, this test indicated that copper levels were low, whereas the other indicated that they were extremely high. At the very least, I'm aware that lime is required.

This was purchased because I was curious about the contents of my lawn's soil. I'm a lawn nut who wants to embarrass my neighbors with my yard because I'm proud of how it looks. A well-kept yard is not only appealing, but it also boosts the value of your home when it comes time to sell. Aside from that, it's nice to get some work done outside. br>br>The Mysoil kit is incredible. I'm an ardent supporter. It's a fairly straightforward procedure. Open the package as soon as it arrives. First and foremost, after reading the instructions, it will instruct you to register the kit on their website, which is very easy to use and register on. Then you go collect soil samples from your testing sites with whatever tool you want. If you're doing a lawn, scatter your collection locations at random. Samples can be collected in a variety of ways. Using a costly soil plug is the simplest option. You place it 6" deep in the ground, pull it out, and place the plug in a bucket or container. Another option is to use a shovel. I went for the easy way out and bought a 9" long 2" diameter auger for my cordless drill. It's easy: drill a hole in the ground and collect the dirt. br>br> Combine all of the samples in one container and thoroughly mix them together. Because you don't need much dirt, your samples can be quite small. Return to the kit once all of your samples have been thoroughly blended into one large sample. A small water vial and a scoop are included in the kit. Unscrew the cap after gently peeling off the vial's seal. Scoop up your blended sample with the scoop. You have the option of compacting the dirt or leaving it loose. To ensure that they could get a good reading, I packed mine gently. Fill the vial halfway with the scoop, then replace the lid and seal. br>br>The box does not specify whether or not the vial should be shaken. This is a decision I've made. After that, place the vial in the pre-addressed envelope. It is critical that you send the vial sample to them within 24 hours of scooping the dirt into the water vial. If you don't, the sample you sent in may or may not be ruined. br>br>I was surprised at how long it took for the package to arrive; I assumed it was priority mail rather than regular ground delivery. The results were posted on their website about a week and a half after mailing, and the amount of information they provide you with is incredible. Easy-to-understand graphics and words depict PH, minerals, contaminates, excesses, and requirements. Mysoil will make recommendations for the types of fertilizers to use. They suggest brands, fertilizer contents, and if you require a nutrient that isn't found in a fertilizer (such as lime), they also suggest that. It's a piece of cake. Their website also goes over all of the nutrients and how they work. The investment is well worth it.

I ordered a soil test on Saturday afternoon and received prompt service, professional packaging, and a dashboard. On Monday, I got it in the mail (from Washington to North Carolina!). The instructions and packaging are both well-designed. My results were sent on Tuesday, and they will be processed on Monday. It was a very simple procedure. During the summer, our local university offers free soil analysis, but the convenience of My Soil Test Kit is well worth the money. I would strongly suggest it.
