Questions & Answers

Is it true that this is effective? It'll go into my herb garden with me. Is it going to be successful?

It is, in fact, effective. In my garden and around orchard trees, I use it to control herbaceous weeds and clump grasses. Herbs would undoubtedly be cut. The blade's edge resembles that of a serated saw. As a result, rather than cutting like a knife, it cuts like a saw.

I can't get the blade back into the slot in the wood because it's too tight. I'm not sure I can. ?

Mine is a perfect fit. Because there is little room for error, it must be perfectly aligned. If I try to push the blade back in too quickly, the teeth will catch in the wood and the blade will flex. The blade, on the other hand, will go straight in if I don't rush or force it. br>br>I do intend to whittle the slot to make it wider at the very edge of the wood, where the slot will have a rolled edge, allowing the blade to "find the slot" more easily.

Is there any truth to this?

It's 100 percent true. It's great for weeding around your trees, bushes, and other plants. It was effective throughout our 20-acre property. The only thing that didn't make it was my lawnmower running over it. After 20 minutes, Hubs went to Amazon and bought another one. (FYI- We have 800 saplings and 50 bushes that are currently using it.

Is it a blade that can be locked?

That's not the case. That, however, is not a problem. This is more of a saw than a knife, and the only way to use it effectively is to cut only on the draw stroke, which tightens the blade to the handle. The serrated teeth are angled to cut only in the direction of the draw. This tool is ideal for gardening.br>br> Cutting vines, thick weeds, and small limbs, among other things

For what it is, it is excellent

It's great for what it is, but I'd prefer it if it were a little more polished. For example, the pin is snug, but I can see how it will loosen over time as I use it. It's just a rough cut piece of bar stock shoved through the hole, with a sharp edge if I may add. It hasn't been peened or smoothed in any way. Apart from that, it's quite nice for what it is.

Constructed on a shoestring budget! The handle on this tool is made of such low-quality wood that it split the first time we used it

The blade's poorly constructed pivot pin broke, and the worst part was that I was only cutting ornamental liriope that had been killed by frost on day one.

I use this grass knife to trim the suckers from my crepe myrtles, to quickly cut away weeds, to harvest asparagus, and so on. I wish the ring on the blade would spin to lock the blade open like an Opinel knife, but other than that, it's a great tool.

This method is ineffective

I bought this folding scythe to cut some weeds with. It only works to a limited extent, and using a hand primer is 10 times faster and requires far less effort. Furthermore, the knife portion cannot be inserted into the handle without becoming stuck.
