The only'sheath' I had was a piece of cardboard when I got these; perhaps they've added one since I got mine; and that information should be on/in the description section. A metal arm with a rivet-like design is also included. which holds the blades together but never locks them in place As a result, it fell off almost immediately into the vegetation. I misplaced it, and I've never been able to use Fisker Shears since.
Hello, Itzik G. I double-checked my shears and they don't have any branding marks either. So I'm not sure if they're Fiskars or not. All I can say is that they have worked well for me thus far and are far superior to the old plastic-handled ones I previously owned.
If some of them have woody stems like the ones you describe, I wouldn't recommend them; they're designed to clip grass in tight spaces where a weed eater won't fit.
They will remain in the same position as shown in the image. The handles are perpendicular to each other.

BLADES WITH A SIZE OF 5 INCHES! My father owned these shears for a long time, and I recall watching him sharpen the blades in the shop at the start of the grass-cutting season, and he would always finish the job by cutting- To demonstrate how sharp they are, I picked up a sheet of newspaper. and to always use caution when working with my fingers! I was planning on purchasing the same shears as my father, but the blades are listed as being 5 inches long. These shears can't possibly be the same! After looking through Amazon's extensive selection and failing to locate any other Fiskars grass shears, I decided to make my own. I accepted the fact that styles shift and placed an order for a set. a pleasant surprise a pleasant surprise Grass shears that belonged to my father! First and foremost, I measured the blades - As it turns out, They're 5 inches long and razor-sharp enough to rip through newspaper! Thank you, Fiskars, for not changing a great design and for bringing back wonderful memories every time I use them!.
Made in a poor manner. They are not adjustable because they are riveted at all critical points. The moving blade has too much play in it, causing it to CONSTANTLY bind on the fixed blade, requiring you to stop every 3 or 4 snips and pry the blades apart by hand. The moving blade excessively twists/pronates in such a way that its angle against the fixed blade becomes too steep, causing the sharpened edges to catch on each other. After only 5 minutes of use, I was completely irritated. br>br>In addition, the handles are made of an overly abrasive plasticy foam that abrades the skin excessively. This was immediately apparent, so I stripped the cheap material down to the bare metal, and they were much more comfortable to use for the 5 minutes I could stand to use them for. Because of THE DAMNED CONSTANT BINDING OF THE BLADES, I was only able to use them for another 5 minutes. br>br>As with most things, you get what you pay for, and this is no exception. Spend a little more and get something that works instead of wasting your money.
The overall construction and feel of these shears is excellent; the moving parts are cast rather than pressed steel, and the actuator connection to the moving blade is strong. My hands are of average size for a man; I believe it is larger than that of our commander in chief, but smaller than that of Ser Gregor. The handles on these shears are awkward and close, making them uncomfortable to use. In addition, while the rubber grips on the handle are thick and cushioned, the orange plastic ends are hard and sharp, rubbing my finger uncomfortably until blisters form. These aren't rotating shears either, which should have been obvious from the description, but I just assumed wrong. I've already worn them and they're dirty, so I'm not going to return them; instead, I'll give them to my mother or sister (who has smaller hands) and get another pair that I can try on in the store before purchasing.
Sharpness and blade alignment are fine, but the handles are uncomfortable and difficult to hold in one's hand; no matter where my fingers are placed on the bottom handle, the shears tend to slip forward or back when fully opened. Despite the fact that I don't have a particularly small hand and only use shears to trim the grass around the edges of a small garden, I found these to be extremely uncomfortable to use. br>br>Also, this is the only Fiskars product I've ever purchased that doesn't have a brand name or logo (that is, it doesn't say "Fiskars" anywhere except on the packaging). I checked out their website, and while the product appears to be genuine, I believe these shears are of inferior quality. quality style that they could produce for retailers to sell under various brands.
I'm very disappointed in this product; I've now used two (2) pairs of these shears (having returned the first pair) and both pairs' blades "seize up" after about 20 minutes of use. To put it another way, the blades stick together after a cut and don't separate on their own. I'm going to have to put my fingers in there- To reopen the blades for the next cut, place them between the handle and spread them out. This does not occur on a regular basis, but it does so frequently. It's inconvenient and frustrating, and it takes time away from a task that should be as simple as mowing the lawn. I've tried spraying WD-40 on the problem. 40 on both the blades and the spring, but this is only a temporary fix. I've also double-checked the "blade lock" setting from time to time. br>br>I'm sorry, but this product is not one I would recommend.
The handle on these grass shears snapped off during the second use. I'm not sure why. Was it used correctly? I'm looking for a replacement for the product. I liked them a lot. br>Recent changes: I received a new pair of shoes from Amazon. Hopefully, the first pair's failure was an anomaly.
The blades frequently seize up, as other reviews have stated. As a result, the product is challenging to use and takes a long time to complete what should be a simple task. Although the blades appear to be sufficiently sharp, the seizing issue is too difficult to overcome. I am unable to recommend this product; however, I do suggest that you search for other shears.
This lawn tool will most likely come from a local big box hardware store, where I can inspect, purchase, and use it today. br>br>Bought on Amazon to save a trip to the store, but the latch on the back is broken. When shears are held flat or angled downward, it falls into the locked position, indicating that a spring that holds the latch back is missing. br>br>Aside from that, this is the better of Fiskars' two shears. The all- The other style's angles rotating shear handle is useful but flimsy, with plastic handles. br>br>This is the better shear style. The handle has more leverage, the blades are slightly longer, and the whole thing is made of metal. The lowe handle's composite grip is only three fingers wide, which is a major design flaw.
