The reason why I gave it three stars was because of that. The plastic is very cheaply made and poorly made. The blades are excellent, but the handles are in need of some modification. Two sharp edges were visible on the blade. I paid $16 for the item. It does have a big design flaw, however, as the straight blade side (which is relatively sharp up until the handle edge) will slice into your fingers as it is easy for the hand to glide up on the It's dangerous to keep using this blade. I put Gorilla tape on top edge of blade to prevent further cuts to my pointer finger! Manufacturer needs to fix this. I'd advise you to avoid it. that, it does a great job of cutting weeds and soil.

I really like how solid this blade is. There is a serrated edge on one side as well as a very sharp one on the other. This is great for cutting through roots and cutting down weeds. Don't let yourself get caught With the sharp side, I cut off a chunk of my finger. I used it to kill weeds in my garden that had been neglected. Also, I've used it as a dibber to open up the soil before planting new plants. In my opinion, it is substantial and feels solid in your hand. However, the sheath that comes with it is a heap of garbage. In truth, I don't consider it necessary for everyday use, but I use it as a cover when I store the blade.
