Despite the good design of the adjustable hooks, the mounting hardware will definitely break if you live in an area with moderate to strong winds. A rope will not work. Install with large sturdy bolts and chains. Occasionally adjust tension.
If you want the tarp tight like in the picture, or forearms like in Popeye, then you'll have to come along.

So far, only two of the four long hooks available to me have broken (the open ends warped when they came apart, so the screw wouldn't fit back inside), and the other two have detached enough from the sail or posts that I have found another solution

An open clasp does not work for a shade sail, so it just cannot be used. As for the other pieces of this set, you can get them pretty much anywhere else, there's no point in spending your money on it.

In order to be certain the screws would hold, I used long screws. Though it might have been good enough to include. Despite this, I only gave 4 stars due to the shape of the "hook" on the ends of the tensioning part. I was hoping for a more rounded shape.
